Some managers have better reach in the company and this let's their team be at the top of everything.

I have seen people get promoted and praised just because of their managers reach to upper management and rest are left for scrambles many a time not because they don't work hard enough but because their manager doesn't cares about their job that much or maybe doesn't has that level of reach in the company 

These well fit in managers tend to benefit their entire team with more opportunities, better salary packages and benefits than rest.

Is this trend everywhere ?

Sometimes I usually think, Why do I lose our school and college friends one by one? Is this a sign of maturity, reality, or something else?

I am just 25 years old, and within 3 years I have lost 90 percent of my circle and the few who left, with whom I usually get time to chat, call, or plan to get out.
 
And I feel that some day I will also lose them.

Can you guys make some comments that I have became  matured or that this is the actual reality of damn life?

Is losing friends from school and college a sign of maturity or reality?

Reality of life. 
  
 Some genuine relations will still be there even if you guys aren't meeting regularly or in touch regularly. 
  
 However you can consider other relations as gone. 
  
 With time only you will know which ones are going to fall in which category.

I've seen a glaring issue with DS in India: desis don't genuinely want real insights. The boss only want insights that agree with his gut feeling. I always thought that we had to uncover truths.

The moment your analysis contradicts the boss's intuition, your work is dismissed. It’s disappointing as fuck. Unless your product is uniquely DS/ML/AI-led, you are mostly a yes-man, bending data to fit a narrative that keeps the management comfortable. The truth? They don't want innovation or disruption; they want affirmation of their outdated ideas.

This attitude fucks up creativity and growth. How can I progress when data is manipulated to pacify your ego. The truth is that ego leads to poor decision-making and business failures.

The problem with Data Science in India 🇮🇳

The recent incident in EY has sparked widespread anguish and awareness about how stressful it is to work in a big 4. Where deliverables are due every other day during peak season, pressure is constantly put forth by clients, colleagues and seniors due to very stringent and inflexible statutory deadlines, it becomes next to impossible to think or do anything else apart from work.

Such extended hours of work are glorified and ones who thrive and accept this work culture are kept on a pedestal as an example of how others should be.

But the question still thrives, is it worth it? Is it worth our very precious life? 

This incident is an eye opener for me and everyone else who's working in such work culture where WLB is totally missing. The choice is with us now, how much of this culture are we really ready to tolerate?

Sad but true.
