- Do these companies take lateral hires? I have seen only IIM candidates freshly graduated being taken in
I'm not IIM, but MBA with 6 years of work ex

- MBB have shittiest WLB and highest money. Which comes down as per tier. Which is the best tier to get into, so I have best of both worlds (less shitty WLB with lesser money)

Getting into Management Consulting

Just wanted to give some updates now that it has been 1 month since the last post

1) Senior Leadership from Tech (3) , a senior director from Product , Finance Head have all resigned. Strategy team has been dissolved. 
2) There are more people in the pipeline and will get more clarity by month end.
3) Everyone over the CTC of 60 lakh has been asked about the revenue that they bring in and based on that, their position is being reconsidered.
4) All contract workers have been terminated. Interns have been told that they won't be receiving PPOs.
5) Senior Management Has been asked to take 20% paycuts. 
6) Even at Junior level, people have been asked to take pay cuts or resign.
7) Lots of tools used in tech are being removed and AWS subscription has also been revised.


Meanwhile HRs have been celebrating on slack channels that Yubi has been ranked in Top 25 companies for career development :/

Which roles should a fresher never apply for and why?

How is job market for Digital Marketing and growth for B2C.  Most of the interest first or mobile first companies are not hiring or hiring at very less exp. and pay.

Can see opening for B2B or product marketing but nothing much from Growth or Performance marketing.

Read there are many who have been laid off some more than 6-8 months but still struggling to find the right opportunity.

Also many senior level guys, on LinkedIn have got into consulting or Fractional CMO roles as they package might be high and no one is in need of such experienced senior ppl team. 

How or when this will change ? 

During 2018 or even 2020 many said Digital or growth marketing will be the future, demand will increase as all business, users go online.. but now seems to be other way round..

Are Digital Marketers finding Job ?

Have received a quote that they charge close to 80K bucks. Do companies even recognise such programs during recruitment? Would love to hear your experience on the same.

Recently set out to hire interns and had a really strange experience

Went through about 170 CVs. Most were shabbily formatted - which is okay, I understand most people aren’t that serious in college.

But then after shortlisting and setting up interviews:
- Multiple kids just did not show up for the interview. They did not even write a mail excusing themselves. Or reply to any mail from me about them missing the call.

- Some of them literally turned up for the call on their phone. They’re mostly well to do, and definitely have laptops. But just casual. 

- This reduced my selection pool to literally 8-9 interns from 180. Of these too, generally saw most of them had too much overconfidence and arrogance about them. Barely went into the depth of the answers, and would over-portray their contribution in past projects/internships, without being able to explain what they really did

I am genuinely shocked and taken aback. These were all Tier 1 college kids, and I just did not expect it to be so bad. A shock for me, and a future shock for many of these kids when they get into the workforce!

Hello everyone reading this, quick intro, I am a 2023 graduate from deshbandhu college holding a Bachelor's degree in Science with a major in Mathematics.

Started my CAT Prep in august 2023, Left my previous job in november end due to tedious work which was not catering to my long-term goals and now, unfortunately, victim of the current job market.....since the opportunities are not very fulfilling from some time, I moved ahead with continuing my rigorous CAT Prep from january & its going really great....but due to increasing financial problems, i'm now compelled to take up a sales role in a bank's branch....I am not much interested in sales work & it was one of the reasons why I left my previous job.....but, now i'm not much concerned about it.... because i'm being advised to go with the flow for some time & take up any job on the side to manage the household.

The thing which concerns me the most is "will working in a sales role or a branch office affect my application in tier-1 b-schools?" Since i'm preparing for tier-1 b-schools only....i see no benefit in doing an mba from tier-2/3 school...neither monetarily nor network-wise. I'm really scared & concerned about taking up this job & my application in b-schools.....kindly help me out....i'm stressed out and this is causing me sleep deprivation.....

Why are there so many VP at Black Rock  on LinkedIn with comparatively lesser YOE than it usually requires to be VP. Almost every one is 28-32 y.o. and there are 20-30 atleast in the NCR.  Very less from IIMs,IITs so we can't discount that.
Anyone have any idea? Other than fake profile?
Any1 working there have any clue please could you comment on hierarchy or workflow .thanks.

I remember reading about this. The explanation was that people or HNI prefer talking to people in higher positions. So these investment banks just give fancy titles to make it seem like the investors are talking to someone high up.

The current startup tech employees and founders are filled with so much junkies who do not care about the product at all.

The culture is set when the startup is founded,when the first set of employees arrive.  These folks are some of the most driven and talented and that's fine, it's how it should be.

But the problem begins when these folks do not find their own hiring strategy and copy the hiring strategy of other companies.

Instead of analysing what works best for them they justify their hiring means by saying this is what other have done.

The result is you get a bunch of leetcode warriors who are always wanting to jump ships when given opportunity, never forming deep knowledge about their industry and their product.

I work in one of the legacy tech companies, sure we do not hire the best people but we nurture them and that earns loyalty and long careers in our company. 

Even the employees have a very 360 degree view wrt product. We always deeply care about our product. 

Tbh I love seeing the stupidity of the market and it makes me happy that more confident that these people are wrong and always will be. 

Even the Indian startups are unoriginal and copied from the west then how do you expect the hiring to be unique. We are all living in the circus where jokers are supporting each other in making the circus bigger.

 Who exactly is recognising overvalued startups as a problem? Most are still trying to run the grift and were only hampered by interest rates lowering their runway. You can see how many are opening AI startups that have nothing to do with AI whatsoever, not to mention the number of Crypto / Web3 companies in our country. 
  
 Executive pay has always been the problem, take a look at any graph showing the skyrocketing ratio of Executive:Employee salary ratio, and for terrible decision making and management as a trend.
