I recently got Online Assessment from Amazon Hackon for Amazon 6m SDE intern. The assessment had 2 DSA questions, I solved both of them within 30 minutes but after a week got a mail saying I have waitlisted. :(

It's been 3 weeks since and I haven't got any update. Should I count on getting cleared from that waitlist or am I getting my hopes high for nothing?

I'll go first. I got a call for an APM role from one of the companies which did sound pretty sketchy and the recruiter was started bullying me into answering questions, when I asked to know more about the role. The recruiter was extremely unprofessional, and obviously the conversation was nowhere great. They however, did go ahead and sent me the JD and other links, etc to fill in and apply for the job. Mind you, I hadn't applied for the job. 🥲
It just was a pretty sour conversation which had left me in an uncertain situation. Any similar experiences?

Weird recruiter experiences

Asked for my expected CTC. I answered and they weren't happy with it. Said they could only give at 40% increment of current CTC and then asked for my current CTC. After hearing my current CTC they said I shouldn't be earning this much and that I was obviously making it up. Then asked to send over my salary payslip which I refused. Basically the HR started being extremely rude at this point stating that I was being unprofessional. I asked their salary budget for the role which they refused to answer. Then I asked if they were willing to hire me for a lower CTC which she instantly agreed and said she knew I was reasonable and I shouldn't have lied about my CTC. I then said good luck finding a candidate for that amount and hung up.

ITR status filed in june end still showing as Successfully e-verified. How many people are still waiting for their processing to be started

I took some days to go through the News feature on GV and it's an intriguing twist to how we read news.

I've been using inshorts, Google News and was even the early adopter of Artifact (AI news aggregator made by Instagram founders). The USP built by GV is quite fitting to the user personas and kudos to the team for creating a seamless feature. Even changing content type is quick and seamless.

Goes to show that interesting products can be built just by understanding the user persona and TG well, by making something "boring" and turning it into something interesting while making sure the context is not lost.

Hi everyone, recently i interviewed for a product position in hdfc bank. I did well and was asked to submit documents for offer release. Everything was going fine. But, a couple of days later, I was told that there's a hiring freeze in hdfc. Can someone confirm this? Thanks in advance.

I joined Accenture in 2021 at l10 and got promoted in 2022 June to l9 with 30%. After that dint get any increment in salary(only 3% once ) like most of my project colleagues. Now i got an offer with 30% hike but my managers are asking me to stay back,though they won't give me any promotion or increment in June cycle asnit is already locked ( that's what they are saying) but they are assuring me that they will match my offer in two cycles ( major % in dec cycle and remaining June 2025 cycle. Also ,they don't want to give anything in writing and want me to trust them. What should I do ,trust them and stay back or switch with 30% hike. I have total 9yeo and the new organisation is an Indian mnc. Plus I have a good repo here in Accenture and a good work life balance.

Please suggest if i should switch or wait

I was being paid less by the company. But I continued as it allowed some personal time and I was expecting senior positions. However, the company has appointed someone(was close to top.mgmt) as my head and my chances of senior roles are bleak now. 
Should I keep playing the chess/politics or just lookout for something else? 
ps- my seniors have left the company and I am not finding any sponsor/godfather who can put forward my case.

A lot of things have happened since my last update. I was caught in election volatility & booked out 50% of my positions. I was hoping for further slippages in the market, but prices started recovering the next day & eventually, I built everything back in the next 2 days.


Currently from last week i have started booking out profits from my positional trades. 1 day before the election my portfolio for this FY was up around 26% & due to election volatility it came down to about 9 %. It is back again to the previous levels, a bit above.


I wont sell my top 2 stocks but i am booking out the rest gradually.


Now the rationale behind locking profit is that, in the last month, the portfolio fluctuated from 26 - 9 - 29. If markets go into trouble, I don't want to give back 20% twice to the market in 1 month. If I have 100 shares, I book out 5-10 every day, so that I can get a good average if the price keeps moving up. I have already booked 50% of my total positions. This process is called BOOKING OUT ON STRENGTH. I am taking advantage of the parabolic move. Us markets are currently thinning out & a handful of stocks are taking it higher, soon our market will experience the same. As of now there are no triggers in our market. But it just takes 1 session for the sentiment to change.


Now, I cannot let my money sit idle in my account, that would be foolish for a trader. What I am doing is getting into sector ETFs of Banks, It , Auto. ETFs are less volatile, if the market is going to move 5-7% more from here until Budget, my returns will be in tune with the market. I am fine if I don't outperform the market for the next 5-7%. After budget i will reasses the situation and will get back again into equities.


It is also a good feeling to book out & bring that money home. Whenever opportunities arise in subsequent quarters I can hit it hard & go full throttle since I have a good cushion.
