Switch Domain

Can i switch my career from frontend to backend as I am having 3.5 years of experience in react. If I can, than how, as whenever I try to do so i am not shortlisted for backend role. Also in my company it's difficult to switch as they are not allowing to do so ? Thanks in advance 😃😃

Hi guys, looking forward to some advice. I'm working as a Frontend developer for the past 2 yrs, tech stack is React, Javascript. I'm feeling that I'm bored with the work and not learning much now, just building components and calling new APIs. So I thought I should try backend development. The backend tech stack in my team is Java, Spring boot. I have knowledge of core Java. If I continue with the current role, I might get a promotion next yr but if I change I will not get. Also I eventually want to go to a MNC, where I see generally hiring is for backend roles where system design and DB is asked. Frontend specific hiring I mostly find in startup and mid sized companies, which I want to avoid. Another option is to switch to a different company like Microsoft, etc where they look for a general software engineer, for which I will need to study system design and DB. I'm fairly good at DSA, so not much of an issue here. What should I do?

Brief about me - I have around a year of experience working as a Frontend developer, primarily with ReactJS. Its been some time since I touched the basics and tbh I've not given time to it earlier also (i switched fields and prepare in around 8 months mostly doing DSA and Frontend development) I am looking for advice to for the preparation strategy to move to new job, I am looking for roles in frontend/Full stack development. Posting again for better reach. Hi, I'm working as a Frontend Dev for the past 3 years. Have good understanding and in-depth knowledge of things in JavaScript, React. Mentored folks/peers, cracked couple of offers from startups and other companies in the past. However, in my initial days I always wanted to be an ANDROID DEVELOPER, learnt Java, Kotlin Android Concepts till MVVM approach. Nowadays, as the Frontend domain is getting more cluttered, I'm thinking to move to Android domain considering the competition would be lesser there. Or start REACT NATIVE. Need some suggestion here. TIA

Hi people, I am a front end developer. I have 3 years of experience. I want to switch my role. I want to work for roles which do not require much coding related efforts. Now If I want to switch my job, i have to look for front end developers role only as I am experienced there. Please share your insights on how can I switch career path in IT industry.

I am working as a front-end developer in a startup for 2+ years and i want to switch to a different company. The problem is I have only worked on the frontend in my current job though my designation is SDE in my offer letter. I don't have much knowledge about backend either.While applying for jobs the JD says i should have work experience in backend tech so in this case should I apply to those jobs or not.There are very few job openings for frontend and everyone is asking for full stack. Will my interviewer asks questions for backend also though I have not worked on it? Or should I only focus on DSA.I have a good knowledge on frontend. Should I just focus on frontend and DSA for my interviews? I am planning to Target FAANGM and good product start-ups Experience - 2+ Tc - 9.5(8.5 + 1 bonus)

I'm currently working as a Frontend Engineer at leading FinTech in India. I'm doing great in my current role(IMO). I also contribute to open source libraries on weekends. Maybe it is FOMO or my learning curve being relatively flat, recently I'm feeling I don't want to type cast myself as a frontend engineer and explore backend as well. I might get promoted to senior role this appraisal cycle. My current org (specifically my managers) don't want me to contribute in backend services as there are already plenty devs in backend. How to go about this? I can't switch since, no company would hire a folk as a senior backend developer with 0 backend experience.

I've been looking for react js developer role and I am fresher but every company I approach they want experience react js developer what should I do in this case. Should I learn more technologies like next js, typescript to embrace my resume infront of recruiter or anything else. Please provide me with your suggestions!

I work at Paytm and rumours are that 35 percent of workforce is going to be fired by may end. I'm definitely in the bottom 35 percent of my team as I'm in a new team and still learning the product. Even my team lead is saying that he will be fired. Now I'm confused, whether to work more or just completely stop caring about work. I need a change. Can anyone provide leads for a backend engineer who works primarily on MERN stack and familiar with Java Springboot stack. I'm hard working and good at Leetcode style algorithmic questions
