TCS BG Verification clarification
Hi folks, I have 8.6 years of IT experience, I am pleased to share that I have been selected by TCS, and my application is currently undergoing background verification. I would like to seek clarification regarding a 3.6-year gap between my education and the start of my career. During this time, I cleared my arrears, and since then, I have not experienced any gaps in my employment. Could you please advise if this gap might affect the outcome of the background verification process?
They will provide you format of gap affidavit and mention exact gap and reason that you mentioned in ibegin portal during documents upload
Yes after completing my degree, I was sick for 1 years, then I completely involved 2.6years for family business. Then I have started my career at IT, till now I don’t have any career gap apart from that…

Congratulations on getting a job at TCS! It is indeed a very good company in the IT industry. As it has its branches in many places, the company expects employees to have a clear background. It is for this reason the background verification in TCS is so strict. I was also an employee at TCS before I made a career switch. Back then, the designated team ran a background verification of me too. The company’s background verification team connected with my previous employer, school, college and even my house to verify if I had worked, studied and lived in all those places. It is a basic formality that any reputed company does, so you don’t have to worry about it. And as for your 3.6-year gap, if they ask, just be confident and tell the actual reason.
I can understand the worries about background verification in TCS, particularly when it comes to gaps in high school or work, as anyone with more than ten years of experience in the IT sector. I was in the same position when I applied at a top IT company a few years ago. Due to personal issues and further study, I took a break for two years after earning my degree.
According to my notes, TCS values honesty and reliability across your career rather than pursuing applicants for gaps, particularly if you have been open and given good cause, as you did when you discussed deciding backlog. In general, the background verification in TCS examines a candidate's honesty, educational background, and overall work history. The gap won't be a problem, in my opinion, but it's always important to be honest and ready to explain.
