Team filled with seniors

I am a developer who joined the company this year as an intern and got ppo, my team fully consists of people in 40 to 50 age group with 10 to 15 yrs experience , on one note, working with such experienced people is an enriching experience but on the other hand feeling like missing out experiences that we get when we hang out with people of our age group, I don't have lot of friends and was hoping that i could get some in the company, I dont socialize a lot apart from people in office, what would you do in such a situation, whats your thoughts on me thinking like this?

It's a good thing. In fact it's the best thing you can hope for. They have something you don't. Experience and knowledge, which you can absorb. You have something they don't. Energy and Time. Focus on building your career. People of your age group you can still hang out with, those from other teams and that way you build a larger network outside your immediate team as well.

@BlackMonkey I just read your bio. I would love to learn a bit more about your career trajectory. Especially as someone who has been in the industry for this long.

It might be a blessing in disguise. You could find a way to socialise outside work too. Maybe spend time with some groups that meet up in your locality etc

Build good relation and not friends in workplace. Maybe when u exit then u can think of opening up more to someone for actually being a friend. Just my opinion
