Thinking of buying Ipad!

Hey folks, I am thinking of buying Ipad 10th Gen, wi-fi, 256 Gb configuration. Primarily I was thinking of using the same to study and do research around new technology for eg to read new research papers and all.

Those who are using it, is it enough useful, what are your thoughts?

This might just be style quotient and spending around 65k might not worth it, so confused here!

Any suggestions?

I got the tab s8 a year back for the same reason. Choose it over the iPad as the tablet+keyboard cover+pen combo was cheaper and I could side load pirated PDFs and ebooks and Samsung dex.

I like it. The tablet is well made. The keyboard cover could be better but I would say it's still better than the base iPad one. Only con till now is the standby time as Android usually has a worse standby time than iOS but the onscreen usage is good. Some apps don't take advantage of the tablet form factor so may look a bit weird like the Twitter app when compared to on the iPad.

don't buy. Instead buy any laptop that splits from the keyboard if your budget is high. If not, get any normal tablet. Even your phone is enough to read any research paper. An ipad is a luxury product to show off with very little RoI.

During lockdown in 2020, I was binge watching procreate drawing videos and end up ordering iPad and apple pencil. So far I have installed procreate and use it hardly 10 times.

iPad has become my second screen to watch netflix while working!

Damn expensive screen!

Go for laptop instead if art is not the primary reason.

The only use of a tablet after 6 months I have seen is to watch Netflix.

Don’t buy an iPad with Apple Pencil 1 + usb c charging port. Pencil 1 has a lightning port. So you’ll need a connector to charge with usb c port on the iPad. It’s clunky!!
