Our organisation is going through a major change, and my manager said that they'll be moving to someone else and all of our team (their reporters) will be temporarily moved under another leader.

2 weeks in, a couple of folks' reporting changed on workday, but no communication from the new manager. I even tried reaching out but no response. 

I asked my previous manager and they said "please wait, they will reach out to you".

It's been 2 weeks since this change and I have gotten no communication. I have followed up. 

Ours is a role where we don't have to give a lot of updates to our manager but I'm honestly scared.

Should I chill and enjoy my manager-free life till they reach out or are my apprehensions correct?

Have recently started noticing a bunch of times that my manager leaves me out of meetings where key decisions are taken, related to the work that I only have done. 

I get to know this because I stalk their Google Calendar. It’s just weird. I’m not insecure or anything, I’ve been mostly rated well. It’s just odd. 

This just didn’t happen before and lately has started.
Anyone faced this and knows how to address it?

My manager who use to support me went on a sabbatical, now my team is getting changed for second time in 3 months and the team I was working in from 1 year and wanting to be Team Lead of is sidelining me as I will be moving to new team now. It’s getting tough for me to take lead of anything and people around are not supportive of me being Team Lead even after knowing I am capable of it.. What should I di, should I just keep head down and wait for manager to return and rant to him or just keep poking everyone and snatch ky rights of Team Lead and stay in same team and refuse to change team

Not sure how to approach manager (also co-founder) with this news. 

Context: 
1. Org has no clear set of rules/policies, but I heard notice period is usually 1 month. My joining date is 1.5 months from now. 

2. Team is in a chaotic state. 1-2 folks were fired, no replacements have been hired. 1 person is on a sabbatical. Worried manager won't take news positively. 

3. Want to leave on good terms, this is my first job, so not really aware of how to have these conversations.

Hi, guys. I just switched to a new role (UX Writing) and its been 14-15 days. I am getting major work FOMO here. Here are two things I am feeling, help me navigate through this? 

1. I am not aligned to a project/account yet. Feeling a bit restless, I feel like reaching out to seniors and teammates and I do. Yet, there’s little clarity on how I will be resourceful to the entire set up. 

2. Brushing up on my skills until formal tasks are allocated to me. However, I learn more on the job, rather than through training. How to make most of the time and resources available?

3. I am not sure if I am overthinking this, but I feel like my role isn’t as well-etched as I first thought it would be.

I  competed interviews with a Seed stage start-up. The interview went well and the VP of Sales let me know they were ready to extend an offer while speaking. After negotiating my salary to a level all parties were comfortable with, I verbally confirmed I would accept and we scheduled a follow-up. The VP told me to rest assured and congratulated me.

On our follow-up, the VP asked if I could wait for two weeks more (at most) for the official offer. The VP said there were some organizational changes in the works that needed to be sorted out, but that they are still bullish on me and I am to be the very next hire if I can wait the up to 14+ days. He assured me he was not pitting other candidates against me, but that he needed more time.

I felt it was odd, given we had discussed my timeline. I have been actively interviewing and now I am hesitant to let my other offers stand idle, even though this opportunity is the one I am most interested in.

I am looking for advice on how to approach this, what I should do regarding other offers vs this offer, and what I should communicate to the company/VP

TLDR : I've received a job offer from a startup in Bengaluru with a base package of 14LPA. This opportunity came through a connection who holds a senior position in the company. Currently, I'm employed at an early-stage startup with a small team, working on a great product, with a package of 10LPA.

The story behind this: 
I was laid off from my previous company due to their financial issues. At that time, I informed my manager to keep me in mind for any future opportunities. Subsequently, I joined a smaller startup with a 20% increase in salary as a SDE 1. I am happy with my work-life balance and satisfied with my role in building a successful product with a substantial customer base.

Recently, my previous manager, now in a senior position at a mid-sized startup, referred me for a role. Although my second-round interview didn't go perfectly, I've been offered the position based on his positive feedback, and they are offering me a base salary of 14LPA.

I have responsibility in my current company and my resignation will effect their timeline. also i don't want to ruin my connection with my manage also who offered me the new job.

I'm uncertain about what decision to make. Any advice?

So I’m working on a 3rd party payroll and yesterday I got a call from them that it’s my last working day in Oracle and I don’t have to serve my notice period. They told me that their client (Oracle) emailed them and informed that my project got over. 
I got a little suspicious 2 days back when my manager asked me to submit my laptop for some security testing and said that i will get it back after 2 day. Everything was fine I even got my salary increment letter the day before yesterday (17th). I’m shocked I haven’t got any answers from anyone. I tried calling my manager neither is he answering my calls nor texts. I’m super frustrated idk what to do.

Just wanted to give some updates now that it has been 1 month since the last post

1) Senior Leadership from Tech (3) , a senior director from Product , Finance Head have all resigned. Strategy team has been dissolved. 
2) There are more people in the pipeline and will get more clarity by month end.
3) Everyone over the CTC of 60 lakh has been asked about the revenue that they bring in and based on that, their position is being reconsidered.
4) All contract workers have been terminated. Interns have been told that they won't be receiving PPOs.
5) Senior Management Has been asked to take 20% paycuts. 
6) Even at Junior level, people have been asked to take pay cuts or resign.
7) Lots of tools used in tech are being removed and AWS subscription has also been revised.


Meanwhile HRs have been celebrating on slack channels that Yubi has been ranked in Top 25 companies for career development :/

So I’ve been working as a Backend Software Engineer. Recently, my manager left the company and I’ve been assigned a new manager. Not to boast but I’m decent at my job and able to find better solutions than my peers, my old manager ignited this passion for problem solving in me. This new manager is really toxic he pass comments on my colleagues (Same level as me) you have short term memory loss, badam khaya kro and shit! He’s always chasing girls in office. There is one girl in my team he acts like a different person in front of her (although she treats him really bad because she thinks he’s a creep). So a few days back, I was working on something with some other manager who knew the context to the problem (there is an internal npm package my company has which only few developers have contributed to, I recently made my contribution to that package) and this new manager has never made any contribution to that package so he started telling the other manager that this guy(Says my name) is very slow and the other managers defends me instantly saying he’s the fastest in the team. I’m really pissed tho.

I want to do something about this guy. He has been doing such things for past month and always tells the sob story of how much he has struggled in life.

Need suggestions on how to tackle this?

PS: I’ve asked my parents if I can resign they are fine with it but I don’t want to resign in this bad market without an offer

My story -
So I switched to a startup last year. I was initially super excited in solving problems. Asking questions and just being curious about everything in general.
   Then, some incidents of my manager's behavior and team folks has turned me into a person who is so fucking afraid of now asking questions, doing tasks. My stakeholder communication sometimes I miss on, some things that seem to be pretty obvious had I been my competent self of previous organization, I am missing out on.
   I don't communicate well simply because I don't want to face my current manager and team. There's huge disconnect as well. I am not at all excited to work everyday. 
 
My friend was miserable in my previous org but now after switch he's damn happy and doing good!

I want to know if this is something that happens with you all? Or are you all like you fit in everywhere?
Or is it just My problem and my incompetence? Because I am always reminiscing my past org and my performance there was exceptional!

I want to understand if this is common for folks and is there a way to tackle it.

I have recently moved my career from Talent Acquisition to Product Management Internally in my organization. My New Manager has also very recently joined the team. I see him barely investing time in understanding the skillset I hold and whenever there's a time of taking some responsibilities he will give it to others. I have been doing some operational work for the past 1 month now, majorly with excel sheets and coordination. 

I want to start working as a Product Management Professional and not as an operational Guy !

Open to suggestions on how to take this up !

Early days as Product Management Professional

I interviewed for a US-based company, the process started during the last week of March. The process took a month to complete, and the final round took 2 weeks to get scheduled since the director of engineering was not available. 

After all rounds were complete, it took 2 weeks for the managing director to call me and tell me about the offer.  This happened after I had to call the recruiter and ask him for updates. 

Since then the recruiter has taken some details in the past week and they made me sign a NDA. I called on Monday and they said they will release the offer by Wednesday as it's getting approved in the US. Now the recruiter is not picking up my calls. 

All this time is making me think that the recruiter is possibly considering other candidates and keeping me on hold just in case.

Do you think the recruiter is ghosting me or not taking my candidature seriously? How should I proceed?

Hi,
I recently went on a vacation and informed my manager (CEO) that I won’t be available for a week. He did not say anything but I could sense that he is not happy.
On my vacation, I get his text asking what’s the progress at work? I Informed him about my vacation but he asks me to work for 1-2 hours ON A VACATION (This is when they promised flexibile work policy) I politely decline to which he doesn’t say anything.
Now, when I’m back, he has started to micromanage and says my work is disappointing according to the standards? I could get that he must be unhappy because a few things didn’t go our way. But, his whole behaviour has changed and he has started acting hostile towards me. I try to ignore and carry on with my work but it gets on my nerves sometimes.
Do I continue silently or should I confront? If yes, then how?

I currently have a job where I can be laid off anytime. I started attending interviews with other companies. To my luck I got selected in a company, interviews were done and final documents were submitted. HR said only the offer discussion round is pending. He said it will be done on Thursday but no response. I followed up on Thursday. He said Friday for sure and no response on Friday too.

 What should I do now ?
 How often should I follow up?

Hi all,

As the title suggests, I want to know if there are consequences associated with quitting a company in just 3 weeks.

I've joined an early stage startup as one of the first few hires in the product team. The pay and work is reasonably okay. WLB is also good. But one of the companies I was interviewing during my NP from called me back, conducted one more interview and now I have a better offer in hand. This new company is a fintech giant and objectively it makes no sense for me leave this offer. 

I'm stuck in a situation now where I'm getting super anxious to initiate this conversation with my current manager about leaving in just 3 weeks. Can someone help me with this? Please share your experiences if possible.
