Some of the things I feel are important:
1. Regularly connect with your manager in 1:1, keep your expectations clear and aligned with him.
2. Ask what you need to do to get promoted, and ask for the work that helps you further your cause.
3. Any initiative which involves multiple teams helps with visibility.
4. Every project has a certain visibility across your organisation, make sure you have a healthy mix of challenging stuff(so that you like your work) and visible initiatives.
5. Show your work on internal forums. Show that you are taking initiatives.

Just recently came across some medium blogs of intuit where they transitioned their apps from react native to native platforms and also they said to stop using react native in further products. How accurate is this info? If they still do use react native then do they hire for specific role?

I am working as a front-end developer in a startup for 2+ years and i want to switch to a different company.

The problem is I have only worked on the frontend in my current job though my designation is SDE in my offer letter. I don't have much knowledge about backend either.While applying for jobs the JD says i should have work experience in backend tech so in this case should I apply to those jobs or not.There are very few job openings for frontend and everyone is asking for full stack.

Will my interviewer asks questions for backend also though I have not worked on it? Or should I only focus on DSA.I have a good knowledge on frontend.

Should I just focus on frontend and DSA for my interviews? I am planning to Target FAANGM and good product start-ups

I have around 5+ years of experience. I am an sde-2 currently that too because I made a switch. I think I am not able to crack the formula for getting promoted within the company. I made three switch even though I had decent bond with manager and colleagues somehow I didn’t get promoted I have spent about 2+ years in my last two companies. Not sure how do I plan my day or what I need to change. My ambition is to become director/ vp someday but at this pace looks like either I will be an sde-2 or have to leave tech. Please give your suggestions as what to do

I wish to show a lot of ownership but in our team, the work gets shared with senior engineers, so it seems or appears that we get overshadowed by them. I graduated in 2021 and have worked in startups across EdTech, Cloud Communication, and currently in FinTech at a Series A startup. After 1.6 years in my first role, I pursued a 23% pay increase but faced a layoff after 10 months. Now, despite my experience, I'm finding it challenging to secure interview calls for an SDE 2 position.

I currently work at a Series A startup where I joined after accepting a pay cut.(little above my first company ctc😢 and working for 7 months). My Job is really writing bunch of code but not designing or implementing any prominent systems as i am still SDE-1.

I'm genuinely seeking your advice:
1️⃣ How do frequent job changes early in one's career impact hiring decisions, especially in different tech sectors?
2️⃣ Given my tech skills and startup background, what strategies can I employ to strengthen my resume for an SDE 2 role?
3️⃣ How significant is the company's reputation when considering a move to a more established startups/MNCs?
4. Is it worth changing or should i continue but pay is low than previous and i am not doing any sde 2 level job.

Hi folks, I have 2.5 yr of experience in react native and JavaScript combined with current CTC of 12 LPA. Few months of experience in frontend. Currently I want to switch from my react native position to frontend position without taking a pay cut. How much is it different from react native and where should I be focusing the most. 
Reason for switching: I am not comfortable in current organisation with the way management works and I am also tired of react native.

Working as android dev for 1.6yrs. I am looking to switch jobs but most of the openings asks for 3-6+ for SDE2 with very few asking 1+. What is the correct experience wrt to role. My senior has five years and is now SSDE1.

I work in a small startup, we have 10 people in Frontend Team. 2 SDE-2, rest all SDE-1. 
I joined as Sde-1, when I joined them, we were 4(2 SDE-2 and 2 SDE-1).

At the time of joining, they had a messy codebase, nobody cared about writing good, optimized code etc. 

Whenever I got chance to work on old feature, I used to re-write entire code from scratch, made reusable functions, components and moved common functionalities there, all these made the UI better, platform stable. 
Worked on optimization and performance. These folks never cared about all these things. 

Also started peer reviewing everyone's PRs, explained them various design patterns and made them write re-usable components, optimized, bug-free code and other things.

Now I came to know, all these efforts of my mine never reached my manager to due manipulation by one of the SDE-2. 

My manager likes this guy and allowed him to handle the FE team. 
This guy has shown that he's the one who took all these initiative and he got all these things done by the team. 
He involved the other SDE-2 in this game. 

Fast forward 1 year, I see most of my code has been slightly modified by him, moved to new file and my actual file is deleted. 
He has done this in order to remove my GitHub history. 
I'm now getting frustrated and don't know how to handle this. 

Resigning is not an option and raising with manager won't help as he's slightly biased and won't believe me. 

Any help would be appreciated.

Getting overshadowed in tech team

I have 1.5 YoE as a frontend developer in an early stage startup. 

I need help with deciding where do I go from here? Do I deep dive into frontend? Do I try to move to full stack?

Things to consider:
- I am from a non CS background
- frontend in India seems to be a bit saturated, especially for entry/mid level roles.

Planning my career as a frontend developer

Hi 
I have been recently laid off from my company they have given me a reason as a lack in my performance overtime although that's not entirely true but to some extent it is.
I think according to my experience as SDE around 4.5 years.I don't have skills and knowledge one should have. I am a SDE 2 sometimes I think I still work and have skills as SDE 1 now I am looking for change 
Struggling with this thought of how to pick myself up as this condition is self inflicted 

How to get back ? Can anyone here help me?
