I've been the job market for a while and have observed a remarkable shift in the number of opportunities in B2B compared to B2C PM roles. 

Most B2C companies in India like Swiggy, FK etc seem to have matured to the point where there's no further scope of optimising their online conversion/retention - the core KPIs of B2C PMs. On top of that, a lot of these companies are eyeing for IPOs soon which makes hiring and building new stuff even a lesser priority for them. 

Is my observation biased? Or is it actually the case that B2B roles are more in the market

Hi All, 

Can someone with 4-6 years of PM experience in the B2C space shift to companies such as Salesforce / Intuit? Lately, I have been feeling that there is a lot of applications for B2C roles and there is hardly any fulfilment with respect to the work, primarily everyone is just copying features.

So, if someone could guide how to do this would be grateful

Transition from B2C to B2B

This is not a question for the cocky new grad in the overvalued startup, but for the few seasoned PMs that still reply out here.

Where do PMs go after they peak?

By peaking I mean arriving at a GPM or Staff PM position at the top 10-15 companies (you can do your own ranking here).

Nobody has the true statistics but I will use the assumption that 75% (debatable) of those who peak, will get laid off within 2 years from their ‘peak role’. The remaining will be able to progress into DoP and VP in the same top company or another in the top 15.

Where do they go then?

I am pretty positive, from experience, that they don’t go any up.

Do they go down the ladder of new startups for titles and ending up in the worst ones after being laid off 4-5 times? Do they quit all together?

Do they open a farm?

Do they start their own startup?

Looking for insights into possibilities for switching to a Consumer facing Product Manager role, when one has spent majority time in their career in a B2B PM role.

I’m in my early career stage (3 YOE, 25 YO) in Product Management with B2B firms. I really wanna switch into a B2C role - but I am worried that my experience is highly B2B centric and would limit my chances. Many companies come up with “n+ years in a B2C product” in their requirements. 

Looking for any tips from people more experienced, also if any PMs have made such a switch.
