I can understand that this can be frustrating, but following up frequently can be counterproductive.  
  
 If anything, it will show your desperation and you will lose any leverage you might have during salary negotiations. I would say give it a week more before checking again. 
  
 Think of it this way, if they really liked your profile, they will get back to you and discuss next steps. If you give up any leverage in that timeframe, it will impact your salary negotiations. 
  If they are ghosting you, it will indicate that they are not that interested (which sucks, and ideally they should just inform you in that case) and following up frequently will not change that.

Hi folks. So I just finished all the rounds for a role in one of the leading retail companies (name starts with A). I thought the rounds went pretty smoothly. My friend works there and she told me that the hiring manager liked me. 

After all the rounds were over, I reached out to the recruiter on updates and she asked me what is my notice period (this was on 9th March, I finished interviewing on 2nd). I told her it’s 60 days but negotiable! I thought it was going in the right direction. 

I follow up again yesterday and she tells me that she hasn’t heard back from the interviewers yet. 

I was kinda banking on this as I have a non-tech role and this was a great opportunity which is quite rare for my skillset (content, creative). 

I do want to get some opinions on how should I read this entire exchange with the HR!

Hi all,

How common is it to clear all interviews and still not get an offer?

The recruiter confirmed I've cleared all interviews & asked for salary expectations etc. As next steps I've to wait for the hiring team to decide based on pay among candidates. Ive never had someone ask me details like notice period, current compensation documents post clearing interviews & still be unsure of offer. 

Can hiring managers please throw some light on this?

I'll go first. I got a call for an APM role from one of the companies which did sound pretty sketchy and the recruiter was started bullying me into answering questions, when I asked to know more about the role. The recruiter was extremely unprofessional, and obviously the conversation was nowhere great. They however, did go ahead and sent me the JD and other links, etc to fill in and apply for the job. Mind you, I hadn't applied for the job. 🥲
It just was a pretty sour conversation which had left me in an uncertain situation. Any similar experiences?

Weird recruiter experiences

Asked for my expected CTC. I answered and they weren't happy with it. Said they could only give at 40% increment of current CTC and then asked for my current CTC. After hearing my current CTC they said I shouldn't be earning this much and that I was obviously making it up. Then asked to send over my salary payslip which I refused. Basically the HR started being extremely rude at this point stating that I was being unprofessional. I asked their salary budget for the role which they refused to answer. Then I asked if they were willing to hire me for a lower CTC which she instantly agreed and said she knew I was reasonable and I shouldn't have lied about my CTC. I then said good luck finding a candidate for that amount and hung up.

I cleared all 6 rounds of a PM interview with an Edtech startup.  The HR asked for current offer letter, 2 references (current and previous manager), and a couple of other docs. 

Then ghosted me for 2 weeks. When I followed up, the HR said they are in-process of interviewing other candidates

Is it normal to do this now a days? 

I understand the company wants to interview more people. But then why ask for any details from me till you are sure that you are going to give an offer

I have clear tech rounds. Now I have HR round schedule. What sorts of questions and discussion  I can expect? 
Also, I have 3months notice period, have told them can negotiate to 2 month's at max, but my organization strictly ask for 3 month NP. How do I handle this situation?

I tried to follow up but no reply.

What do you guys think, should I have any hope or let it go.

Hi guys(Mainly HRs), 
              Recently I applied to one SaaS company for the position-Solution Engineer/Implementation engineer, I had 2 rounds and was done with both the rounds. As I was expecting results, I got this mail from the previous round interviewer saying ( See the below/above image).  It sounded very odd and strange to me and frustrating to hear this, I acknowledged it and mailed the interviewer and HR asking to  give any constructive feedback if there were any; Until now they haven't responded back. I feel better now but obviously very disappointed with such a reply, can any one of u from startups/ HRs from start-up Please clarify - Is this the way Start-up rejects candidates or I got unlucky in this situation?

I’m a bit confused of what should I make out of this situation
Background summary-
I have had 2 interview rounds
Back to back within 2 days HR couldn’t stop calling for even small queries.
Round 1- discussion related to location, roles and responsibilities basic information.
Round 2- Interview went well expected compensation was asked and also the question of relocation was asked
Which from my understanding was interview went well
Since 3 days I have been contacting the HR and she has been giving replies such as still need to get the feedback from the interviewer etc
After 3 days I texted her to ask the status update we connected where she mentioned they are currently busy into hiring from another location and need to get the confirmation from the internal team if they are proceeding with this location (the same location where I was considering) although you’re shortlisted but still I will need 2 days to confirm whether they are proceeding ahead with this location.

Then the interviewer again calls after few days and says before rolling out offer letter I want to discuss for 10 mins. And the discussion goes on for 1 hr.

PS - it is a global MNC.

No, some interviewers prefer holistic discussions rather time bounded. If you enjoyed those convos, I don’t see a reason for red flag

Around a month ago, HR called to ask if I was interested in the APM role. After following up multiple times for the interview, they said the hiring manager didn't like your profile. After 2-3 weeks, different HR reached out, saying they want to conduct round - 1 for the same team. The interview happened, and I reached out to HR after 3-4 days for the next steps, but she kept cutting my calls and completely ghosted me. I reached out to another HR, and she said the feedback on the portal was that "experience is not enough."

I was pretty disappointed as while conducting interviews, HRs reached out to me so many times, but they couldn't even send an automated email for feedback. 

But it didn't end there. The HR who ghosted me called again after a couple of weeks to schedule round 1 with another team. The interview went well, and the interviewer asked me about my availability for round 2 and when I could join them, etc., saying we would try to conduct the next round soon. When I reached out for feedback, HR kept saying I'll call you later. I'm busy right now, and then they ghosted me. After following up multiple times, she said the feedback wasn't positive. 

I hoped for round 2 here since the interviewer seemed convinced and contented with my profile. Now, just because I reached out 10s of times, they told me that I have been rejected! 

How much time does it take to send an automated email? :/

Folks ,I have been on panel for almost 10 years with few prominent pointers about  interview tips to follow : 

1) Never EXAGGERATE yourself 
2) Don't get PERSONAL with panel
3) Be honest to say NO for not knowing anything, instead of blabbering 
4) Be precise in your response , Start with fundamental understanding of the question and then present the case you worked on
