What skills to learn to be able to support/develope WMS softwares

Hi guys,

I am a warehouse manager and I am fed with this role. I want to learn how to design and develop this WMS/TMS softwares. Unfortunately I work in Amazon which has its own WMS/TMS softwares and hence I am not getting exposure to work on softwares like blueyonder, Manhattan etc.

I have engineering background but no programming skills. What skills/languages do I need to learn to get an entry level job ins these SCM software developing firms?

If any of you techies can help me show a path it would be really helpful

Thanks
