All the personal loan apps have full access to your contacts and will start calling your friends and family if you don't pay the instalments. People have committed suicide over these issues.  
 The Banks and fintechs hire a third party to do it so they don't even get incriminated in these crimes.

This is only Chinese loan apps right. The regulated ones can get into deep trouble over illegal tactics.

I am pissed. There's this app which doesn't allow me to cancel UPI autoplay mandate in free trial without paying the first installment. Like wtf!

I will go first- sneaking in membership fees while making a purchase; urban company recently got some flak for it.

Uber designers (or PMs) why are you trying to get rid of the ride search cancel button? Found a ride faster and cheaper ride on Namma Yatri but can't cancel until Uber decides it's ok to do so! 

Won't be surprised if this leads to accidental bookings and shifting the onus on the rider to pay a "cancellation" fee. 

Why chase vanity metrics at the expense of the user experience? Switchers gonna switch.

- Analyzing 642 websites and apps, the study found nearly 76% used at least one dark pattern, with 67% using more than one.
- Common dark patterns include sneaking, obstruction, nagging, forced action, and social proof, often making it hard to cancel subscriptions.
- The report suggests the FTC may increase focus on consumer fraud related to dark patterns.
- The study involved 27 authorities from 26 countries and was part of the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network’s annual review.

Amazon’s e-commerce platform has had a long history of spitting on all kinds of design guidelines and sensibilities.
It has made me question the value of good design time and time again - because business seems to only be booming for them regardless of this behaviour.

Obviously, their service and reliability is rock solid - and that’s a big part of why people continue to be their customers (I’m a Prime subscriber myself).

Anyway, I just wanted to rant about the insanely inconsistent navigation bar on the Amazon app (pictures attached).
How are these part of the same app?
There are three different kinds of visual treatment and two different types of behaviour for tabs.
Not to mention the glitchy lines cutting in on More tab; or the different placements of the close button on the two flyouts.

How is this acceptable from one of the largest companies in the world? In the production version of freaking B2C app?

I’m losing my mind guys! 😣

They are showing the total price as 65k in EMI. But when you see the per month amount and manually add it, that sums to 68k.

They are intentionally not adding the interest amount to total. And confusing users with the total amount.

I think something we tend to less appreciate the designs which are simple and to the point like what's app

I have seen lot of other apps like cred, uber, ola etc making it unnecessarily complex & using dark patterns. CRED especially always gets appreciated for innovative/ head turning designs but I feel we need to appreciate lot of simple but well built designs as well

why cred app is so confusing to use?

So zepto has a 'Remove' delivery button inside the bill details. This is a very smart way to make money, since this button is situated inside the details part. But on the other hand it feels a bit weird, if I miss opening the details I might have paid 27 rupees more.

Thinking of building a bill payments app

Guys is this real? If the battery charge decreases the price increases. I was trying to book flights( I was in a hurry) , and at the moment the charge was below 20, prices were jumping. But the moment I plugged it in the power Bank the price decreased.
