Which all companies are laying off?
I believe the supply is more than demand for the talent pool nowadays. So, is cost cutting is the only reason or roles are getting redundant too? I am looking for good insights across sectors and roles to understand the overall situation.
Companies are starting at decent pace in March 2024. Any major macro factor changed?
My observation - Business and investments are always cyclical primarily decided by central banks as they control the flow of money in markets. They have a responsibility to balance the growth against inflation.
When markets are in growth phase - Companoes hire aggressively, execute moonshot ideas. Investors throw money as they don’t have other places to keep that money.
When markets are in cool down phase - No machine can grow indefinitely, so when cool down period comes. Companies tame down activities and hence less roles or opportunities in the market.
