I had the same reaction. However maybe OP meant that because of language barriers people are forced to give more money when dealing with folks?

Personally I've found corruption to be much higher in Southern India (KA and TN). Maybe it is because of the language.

From the past few months I'm seeing news of all the big projects of National interest being parked in Gujrat. Be it GIFT City, DREAM City, Chip Manufacturing facility by Tata, 2036 Olymics stadium, 2 new smart cities, center for AI excellence, Cholera Solar Park, Bullet Train stations, etc?
I'm happy for all the work happening but it seems unfair that all great projects are happening in Gujrat. 

If trade is a reason, there are other states as well in western coast like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala.

I'm not trying to make it political, but I feel it is. 
If it's not political please give your reasoning. I want to be wrong on this.

Maybe your lenses are coloured. I will list 3 different projects from corners of India -  
  
 1. Jewar Intl airport - Delhi NCR  
 2. Coastal roads - Mumbai 
 3. FinTech City - Chennai  
  
 Many relatively smaller initiatives like reliance met city went to Haryana, MH signed 1.4 trillion$ MoUs in Davos.  
  
 States like GJ, MH, KA, TN have a friendly investment policies for many years now. Check which all states have their own pandals in Davos.  
  
 Tatas wanted to establish a manufacturing base in WB and we all know what happened there.

Whenever I read foreign media outlets, India is the new Asian Tiger that will outpace most emerging economies in growth. But Indian media and Indian people act like India is the worst place to be.

The dichotomy is extremely confusing. Why is it that foreign media coverage on our economy is more favourable than our own hopes and aspirations from this country?

PS: I am really big on Indian Exceptionalism, the belief that India's economic development and trajectory are unique or exceptional compared to other nations, driven by our large and diverse population, thriving middle class, our entrepreneurial spirit, and the emphasis on technology and innovation.

Why do Indians hate India?

Lack of opportunities, too much competition and no support from government (unless you know someone who knows someone) 
  
 It is just not India, you speak with natives of other countries they will not paint rosy pictures. Happiest country Finland has such gloom in population and they accept it

I had a terrible experience last week Friday and want everyone in Bengaluru to be safe. I was assaulted.

Incident 1:

I went to drop a colleague after an office event and was returning away to my place. It was around 1-1:30 am. It was a single road and i was ascending an up and i saw a tempo-traveler coming the same way not stopping. The tempo didn't stop and immediately i took the reverse gair and started coming back and i heard a sound that tempo hit my car. I stopped and rolled down my window to see i there was a damage, as i couldn't see i got out of the car and asked the tempo driver if it hit my car (in my local language - telugu) i saw him coming down with unusual body language (could see he was drunk) and i said "nothing" (again in my local language) and got into the car. A second man got down and the tempo started hitting me through the window, followed by the first man punching me in the nose, breaking it. They banged on the car like anything and broke the right mirror. i bled and I got half conscious. Two more men from tempo joined in, assaulting me. I managed to roll up my window and drive home, bleeding and half-conscious. With blood all over my clothes, car and accessories i couldn't sleep as i could breathe with a broken nose.

Incident 2:

The same morning, to report the incident, I returned to the spot with my brother to identify the tempo. A local man offered help, suggesting my brother take photos of the tempos for identification. Suddenly, two women started abusing us, and a man attacked my brother, accusing him of taking pictures. The man threatened us against involving the police threatening he would see the end of us.

I've lived in Bengaluru for 5 years and have seen many such instances recently. Recently, the crime rate has increased significantly. Please be safe and careful while driving at night. This can happen to anyone

Alright,  Bangalore is the best city in India. It's not just the best, it's in a league of its own compared to other cities.

First off, let's talk about the weather. Bangalore's weather is perfect all year round, magical. Unlike heat waves of Delhi and the shit humidity of Mumbai, Bangalore's climate is the best. 

Who wants to sweat anytime you step out or freeze to death in winters? Not me. 

Bangalore is where the real innovation happens. Really smart people making this country better. These Delhi Bombay kids caught lacking for real.

And the people? Bangalore's got the best of the country. It's cosmopolitan. You've got people from all over the country, and everyone's more educated and progressive. 

So, let's cut to the chase. Bangalore is the best city, hands down. The rest of India can keep dreaming, but they'll never catch up.

Current scams came to light only after SC’s intervention. Currently all our media houses are busy bootlicking and not doing any investigative work.  
  
 Also consider the fact that most corrupt politicians have moved to BJP in past few years. It’s safe to say BJP is the party with most corrupt politicians.

I am in shock that the Canadian PM, in the Canadian Parliament no less has alleged that India has eliminated a khalistani on Canadian soil. 
I still remember the days, when the single greatest attack on the soul of the country took place in Mumbai on 26/11, all we could do was establish backchannel diplomacy with the likes of the US to get Pakistan to 'calm down'. Not a single bullet was fired in return in a nation that perceived our weak national security as par for the course, getting the Congress led UPA that presided over this moment of unparalleled humiliation, a thumping verdict in 2009. That was an India where we would lament the lack of credible retaliation options including Covert Ops. It was often stated that IK Gujral rolled back R&AW operations outside the country as an excuse for our lack. Although, no action was taken to initiate the operations again. NONE. But excuses were ready should failures occur again.

That India of my childhood, seems like a distant past. When URI and Balakot happened, we crossed the LoC and launched Spl Ops to impose rising costs upon Pakistani aggression. Khalistani or old thoroughbred battle hardened Islamic Jihad commanders in Pakistan or PoK are being neutralized, further raising costs to threatening Indian interests. 

This is not the India I grew up in. 2004-14, when we ought to have taken off, came a pauper after the initial global liquidity fuelled growth from 04-07. Congress went on a far left loony socialistic binge, with massive amounts of debt given to Crony Industrialist friends leading to an NPA crisis which led to Private investment paralysis, plummeting growth further, and inflation hitting the skies. 

But now, we are poised for a decade or two of rapid, high quality, solid economic growth. All of these factors combine to bolster our Gross National Power like never before. 

We were supposed to be poor, timid and helpless. We pursued sympathy over strength. But I guess, this is no longer the India we knew of.

This is NOT the India I grew up in

This is not the India I grew up, where there was some trust left between religious communities and people were mostly tolerant of each other. Indian cricket team had a Muslim captain, and now an Indian Muslim fastbowler is facing Internet trolls.  
  
 This is not the India I grew up in where hate mongering was not mainstream and was frowned upon.  
  
  
 This is not the India I grew up in. Democratic institutions were fairly independent and there was no Supreme leader worship among the masses.
