People in south even vote whatever little to congress because of fear of Modi.

  1. BJP is seen as a predominantly North Indian party and its perception of a hindi imposing guys.

  2. People in south understand the importance of religion and politics so they see through the politics of Ram Mandir and Masjid issues. While they worship lord ram, they can see through the deception.

  3. South votes along collective caste lines and community loyalty. Also representatives there (MLAs, MPs) dont simply exploit people but do serve people a bit and do corruption side by side.

  4. Anger on Modi by the states who claim to contribute a lot of money but never receive enough funds for development.

  5. Modi's general apathy towards south as they dont bulk up his numbers in parliament.

  6. Lastly, they can sense the bs of Modi trying to run india according to his ideology which does not resonate south. Polarisation also makes them angry on him as a factor. Regional parties have iron grip here based on state subnationalism

Well put up. You are the first person who gave a proper argument.

  1. For your first point pls refer this : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-Hindi_agitations_of_Tamil_Nadu
  2. It’s really great you guys can see through different policies yet fail to see through “anti Hindu” policies of some parties in south. (I can put a reference if required.) I recently saw Tamil Nadu’s sports minister remarks in Hinduism. I’m pretty sure no other party would ever dare to comment on other religion.
  3. It really was a great ideology till some politicians decoded this and started misusing this notion of the people.

I’m not a direct supporter of any party but the point is many regional/ famous parties are failing to their duties. These parties are failing to have Hindus their basic rights in most parts of our country.

BJP is somewhat doing the job. If any regional party can keep up with this I don’t mind.

I hope many Hindus can feel like minority in many parts of India . Last year in December I visited Mangalore, such a magnificent place with great temples. But the disturbing fact was there were lots of non Hindus populating that area. That day isn’t far when those temples will be demolished to create other regional monuments and the temples will cease to exist.

@Saiyan On the points you mentioned above.

  1. Identity and legacy takes precedence over everything else, hence the agitations.

  2. Regarding Anti Hindu policies, please do see them wrt at the day to day operations in life. Everyone arent impacted by it. Regarding the sports minister comment, Hinduism cant be demolished by a kid's words. Our religion isnt that weak and insecure. Even a teenager knows that the guy made that comment to roil BJP , thats all. If they were really Anti hindu, trust me , people would come on roads. In south, people can understand if their religion is in danger. Everybody minds their own business and is subtle about faultlines. Regarding other religion being insecure and silencer of criticism is their weakness.

To save hinduism, a balanced legislation is enough and anything extra would be an overkill and unnecessary.

  1. Its a sad thing but politicians do it for the sake of their survival. Corruption + Development = Cycle. I can quote an example :

  2. In UP , MLAs can be given 5Cr as funds and they ll swindle all of it and kill those who dare to question.

Now take TN, where 5Cr is granted. 4 Will be used for development and 1 Cr will be swindled. Moreover, realistic freebies are given to satisfy the populace. A bunch of populists I say .

People are so dumb they still need to realize that, nothing is free its their tax money returned to them in peanuts, with zero development.

Wake Up Dakshina Bharat !!!

Every state in South is different. TN - they vote for local parties as it's being going on for years from Karunanidhi time I believe. These guys are among the worst, no doubt but people can relate to them better than they can to BJP. BJP and it's party people think Hindi is our country's National Language(What a joke!😂😂) and the people there simply don't want any perception of that in TN. They are happy to learn English for jobs and international prospects

Karnataka - it's based on anti incumbency. There's no specific answer to how the voters vote. They may vote on Hindutva politics or if they are sick of current govt work, they switch

Telangana and Andhra - I don't have much idea.

Kerala - Would not vote for BJP simply because of their divisive religious politics. People of all religions live harmoniously there or atleast strive to and they see through this pathetic charade the BJP puts up! But, the party they have elected, are they good? Not really! They do play certain level of caste based politics.

Fair enough but I’m pretty sure Congress is the one that believes Hindi is the national language. BJP believes in sanatan dharma . If they were to put up a language it would be certainly Sanskrit.

Sanatan Dharma / Islam / Christianity whatever mixed with politics is a poison for the country. Religion exists for our sake, not the other way round !!!

If you see Israel bombing of palestine ppl , not many countries support palestine because they havent had anything to offer valuable to others . India as a country needs a reality check that Mandir/Allah/Jesus will not make problems solved magically !!!

Modi has done considerable reforms in India and Foreign policy stuff but its a double edged sword.

His reforms are for free market but nobody there to consume it. A nation is truly uplifted when HDI is lifted which hasnt been done till now. R&D is neglected as usual, education hasnt been reformed on a war footing basis .

Also his my way or highway attitude will help in short term but will paralyse India in the long run.

Every candidate comes with a make believe version of development but if certain lines are crossed, then its danger for the country.

I had the same question and my friend from south told me that even though everyone likes Modi's work, South votes more on castes. They will vote for anyone who is from their caste in their constituency. And while BJP plays on religion, Congress has a strong chokebold on casteism. Very evident from Rahul Gandhi's speeches recently. And even I felt the same over here. People in south have some deep rooted casteism in them.

Yes, Casteism + populist leaders invoking collective caste pride / victimisation works. Leaders use this gimmick for elections and afterwards continue their development, corruption agendas.
