Why is a credit card needed?
Can I live a credit card free life? Although I consider myself a credit card smart user, I did an experiment where I can't spend via credit card for a week. I ended up spending much less. My credit score is 780. What are the problems of stopping the usage of all my credit cards today? Is there a difference in the loan interest I would get? Would that difference be significant?

For me, the benefits are all the add ons, mainly the reward points that can get me crazy conversions on vouchers or flight tickets or hotel bookings. And to ensure I don't overspend, I use my credit card as a debit card - never reaching my credit limit, never crossing X% of my monthly income/planned spend etc.

Assuming similar price across cash/credit, From a business point of view, the cost of credit is blended across all customers. So in a way, cash customers pay for credit customers.
I treat my credit cards just like debit cards. Whenever I buy something, I transfer the same amount back to my credit card account immediately or within a day.
This way, I'm building my credit history and taking advantage of the card's benefits while being mindful of what I am spending on.

You don't need a credit card. I manage well enough without one, even with international travel. All it takes is some advance planning.
