I have been trying to get back to gaining control of my life. 
At least the things I can control. 
But maybe cuz of procrastination, I am not able to start it? 
I have been an accountability partner for a friend and I know how I somehow was able to nudge them to stop their addictions. Ok, Stop might be a strong word but at least drastically decreased the intensity of it. 
So started wondering maybe that’s something I need for myself at this point? 
And I know I am mildly competitive too. 
So if you have been thinking of something like that, maybe we can do it together?

As the title says. 

I have tried many methods of dealing with procrastination to code, there is always a constant fear of not being consistent, plus programming doesn't come easy to me or rather I don't have the grit to do it. I have seen other college mates grinding their ass off to DSA, how do I go past the stage of fear of feeling dumb and procrastination? Anytime I try to sit to do anything I immediately get this wave of overwhelming anxiety, I then start scrolling on my phone to get rid of the feeling. I can't even sit properly on a chair for long - yeah call me COVID kid or something but this has been the case for years. I only manage to do work/study at the very last moment but programming isn't like that, it takes consistent efforts. Are there any methods to achieve it?

P.S. hard scolding or stern answers are also welcomed, really want to improve myself.

How do you deal with procrastination?

I always think of studying or building that one project over the weekend or complete that one chore which is pending from past 2 years!
But fail everytime, I don't even move on weekends i don't like going anywhere I don't even like house full of people I just want quite time in weekends but unfortunately don't get it so I feel like I have not relaxed properly and this makes me think I deserve to be lazy all because of this have not studied from a long time so much so that I am almost back to being a noob on my skills its so freakin heart breaking where I have landed myself and I repeatedly do this every week! I can't even focus on one thing. Even if I quit social media and get serious it's just for 2-3 days max after that I am back to the procrastination den.

Please guide, seriously need advice and steps that can be helpful to overcome this.

How can I do it the right professional way, in a way that makes SDE interviews for Google level easy. 
I have a problem of not being disciplined to grind Leetcode. 
Should I join these coaching classes like Coding Ninja, Scaler and guilt my self into discipline because of money?
Any books?
I know concepts, I just want structure in my prep.

What's the one thing you had wanted to change / start / stop doing this year - call it resolution at the beginning of the year? How are you doing on that? 

I wanted to get into a better rhythm on fitness and sustain the good eating habits from last year. 

Where am I? 

After a wasted JFM quarter, did somewhat okay in Apr, May and June. July has been not too bad. Baby steps: trying to get 3-4 hours in a week for fitness. I have realised habit formation is a function of stacking. When I workout on Saturday, I want to go to the gym on Sunday too and then on Monday and Tuesday and so on.. When I miss 2 days in a row, then I degrade to saying okay, let's start on Sunday - as a fresh week. Trying to break out of that and convincing myself today is as good as Sunday. :P Definitely improved, but a long way to go.

Would love to know about others here on and hope to get more inspiration. 

As they say, one day at a time. So do you want to wait till Jan'24? :)

I have seen my attend span dwindle and I procrastinate a lot. I am worried that it will hamper my career trajectory.

Hey guys so not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, but I really need help from wherever I can get. 

So I was never into pornography until college happened in 2014 and I had a single room all to myself and unlimited high speed internet. 

It started with watching porn on weekends and snowballed into doing it daily over the course of the next 4 years. 

Not only that, as of today I am spending so many of my productive hours (3-4 hours) on sites like Omegle hoping to meet someone with the same fetishes as me.  (ik foolish me) Not only that I do the same on Telegram, Instagram, Snapchat, Kik, Discord etc. I know I'll never get anything worthwhile here but I am deeply addicted to this expectation that I will. 

Today I haven't come out of my room. Since 9am when I woke up, I have only been looking at porn and at these sites doing God knows what!  (It has been 8 hours) ☹️

Not only these, once or twice I had a chance to get intimate with a girl, but I could not keep it up and ejaculated within a minute.

Guys I have ruined my life. Please guys I am begging you, I want to pick myself up and make a man out of myself and live a happy life. I am very very sad and depressed. Please help me if you can.  It has been 10 years, I am 28 now and I can't take it for one more day. 😭😭😭

I know this will sound like a very biased opinion but just sharing my 2 cents of today’s market.

The way with highest probability of success, money and ensuring a better future for your future generations is to startup.

It has the highest risk, highest reward. But in today’s landscape: where inflation is always higher than your hike, there’s no guarantee of employment even in next 1 years, the effort to remain in top 1% is humongous and many other reasons like that, really make me feel that if you’re able to start a company and even capture 0.1% of market who’s willing to pay something for your service/product, that’s all you need. Of course the struggle doesn’t end there and you have to keep working for as long as possible? But your capacity to earn and provide for generations to come is much higher than working for someone else.

All disagreement is welcome :)

The guaranteed way to success (if there’s one)

5 days of periods every month, then you may fall ill sometimes, then you are plain lazy (coz humans)
Just so difficult to keep at it every. single. day.

Not saying women have it difficult (we do), but how do you push yourself everyday to keep fit

I personally try to not keep skip 2 days in a row, unless aforementioned reasons

Why is it so difficult to continue fitness routine

I have been in this dilemma for the past two years. Work is nothing interesting to write about. Literally frozen learning anything new. Was able to start with teaching through an opportunity and started liking it. But the inability to process thoughts in a streamlined execution plan is throwing me off. There are so many things to do, but so little attention span. 

I want to be grateful for what I have but also want to prove to myself that my ability is probably better than this, to toil this way. 

I thought moving to a better job with better money might be the solution but is it ?

Do people relate to this or is this just a me thing? Please share your thoughts. Any suggestions to get out of this loop is welcome.

I am fed up here as I don't see accountability anywhere. 
There was a Telugu Movie starring Mahesh Babu where he being CM says, in foreign, people are responsible and accountable and they made their lives beautiful. How amazing, right? I truly resonate with that thought

We lack accountability in everything we do.
- if something goes right, it's us, if wrong, it's them!
- We don't hold our govt politicians on their promises, on delivering things of value
- Companies go on screwing us, we don't give a damn. Refunds are processed without timelines, cases in country are backlogged for years and years
- We cannot even keep our cities clean, our air pure and our water drinkable and we are least bothered by it
- We cannot maintain our own infrastructure like Buses, railways, trains. We fucking are stealing mugs from railway toilets due to which it's chained (wtf!)

We don't want responsibility and no one should question us.
How are we really supposed to grow?  
Stringent laws in place helps with accountability of companies who at all times think how can I squeeze more money from people and screw them
Accountability keeps everyone in check.

I work in remote mode full time, occasionally visit the office, once in 3 months. My office is located in a different city from where I live in.

The work I do is challenging and interesting, but I manage to complete my tasks by working for max 4-5 hours a day. Remaining time of the day, I get distracted, not with household duties but by doing research on random stuff. I want start a company, but I have no idea where to start. I consume a lot of information, yet most of the time I spend goes unproductive. By nature, I am very unorganized. 

Most of my friends are busy in their own world and I don’t want to disturb them seeking advice.

Any idea how I can get over this habit to make productive use of my time, while WFH?
