Why do you (not) want to work at FAANG?
Why do you want to work at FAANG? or Why do you not want to work at FAANG?
FAANG is my dream and I will get their soon. The problem is that they take too much time to finalize a candidate.
big companies can't move fast! So there's no point in comparing how it was previous and then crying. When things get bigger, there needs to be more people. When employees increase, there will be issues.
Or else, every employee should wholeheartedly work for 10-12 hours every day. Most people go for the pay and brand and not to work fully.

1. Tough interview process. Needs to be a leetcode monkey.
2. Getting into FAANG is luck. You might be good at leetcode and system design but you can still get rejected.
3. If the person wants to climb the promotion ladder fast. Need to put in lots of work. Growth depends on luck as well.
I wanted to join (and even got an offer from Google) because of the brand. I didn't join, and probably won't, because of the pay. I was offered 26% less than what I was making before just because I got laid off in my previous role. PhonePe gave me 32% hike on my previous.
Got 2 rejections recently from your org, need to switch to a better place then try for FAANG
Got rejected in the screening round itself 2 times at Google and one time at Amazon 2 years back. But now when I talk to PPL who works in Big4 they are disinterested in applying to FAANG because of the recent firing spree from the last 2 years. They are ready to compromise the big pay check for the job security and that's why they are continuing in the mid level organizationas
Want to work with at least Netflix. They had some great engineers working on the Frontend side.
Their interviews are mostly tough and extremely long (an acquaintance got into google after being in the process for a year) and also relies on very strong DSA skills which I feel has just become a mugging race of patterns.
I had an interview with Google 2 years back and was rejected in the 2nd round due to my not so strong DSA skills.
I would have been fine if they asked me hard questions on the Frontend (there are many) and then rejected it would have been fair but it is what it is.
Still, will keep trying to get into them atleast once in my career.

Lol been trying to get a interview in any of them from my college 1st year , now i am working and still haven’t got the chance 🙂
I got a campus offer from Msft and left within three months, heres why.
Everyone was just so.. average - for lack of a better term. Would hardly see any IITians who arent fresh grads, everyone seems content enjoying the chill lifestyle, resting and vesting (which is fine but not for a young grad imo). For me, it personally made it almost impossible to find a mentor whom i could respect and learn from. Also, the pay is peanuts.
I suspect this might not be the case at other FAANGs though.
