Most review processes involve a self evaluation basis the goals which were set; a manager then shares their comments and gives an overall rating.
Managers also rate their team members every quarter, which is not shared with team members. This can be a 9 box tool or any other rating tool.
- Start with a response on each of his/her comments.
- Don’t acknowledge the rating; else you won’t be able to review
- Ask HR to share your quarterly evaluation/rating
This way you can make a strong case. Don’t feel disheartened. Hope things work out. Managers are also humans, a good one with accept their error in judgement.
