Spotting a self-centric leader

How does one pick a good boss to work under as working under a good boss is most important decision for ones career? What are some visible red flags one should be wary of?

I am fed up with people who try to steal other people’s credit. Be it your manager, your colleague or anyone how do you avoid them from taking your credit for the work you have done. Worst part is seeing them try hard to showcase it as their own. What do you all suggest for such situations?

Everyone is gung ho about Leadership..Leadership this..Leadership that..but honestly how many of us are really able to follow that? Don't you have to micromanage the team members? How do you find such motivated team members? Honest answers only.

How do you deal with someone else taking credit for your ideas in front of leadership? Asking for a friend. Some more context. My friend, female, discussed some ideas on a project with the person in question, male. He's a new joinee with impressive pedigree. He went and presented those ideas as his own to a key leader. The leader was impressed. My friend wasn't able to get a word in, even though she's been around for much longer at the company. How would you deal with this?

Note - I am a product manager too 4 out of 5 product managers will act all high and mighty of themselves, bragging their way as if they run everything going on in the company, flaunting their business degrees and being utterly disrespectful towards their team( dev design qa name it), Recently started going to office so the attitude I am seeing is very transparent and more visible (more with the higher experience folks) It makes me wanna leave this hyper inflated role, thinking of I will end up like them scares me, and you have to do is speak out jargons in meetings day in day out and have a English accent of Shashi Tharoor. Recently my manager told that this is a role where you have to very representable or very visible and act in floor as if you are the busiest person on earth and I seriously some PMs in company doing that, they walk so fast in floor as if they will fall off or would be better to have 4 legs.

I was in an interview with a CEO of an 8 year old startup. The dude was vaping during the interview. Kept saying “whatever” to all my achievements, didn’t even see my resume before starting the interview. Stretched a 30 minutes call to 75 minutes where I only spoke for 15 maybe. I immediately withdrew my application post the call. Did anyone ever experience bad behaviour from the interviewer?
