Which is the best bank to open a Savings Account with right now ?
This is not going to be my salary account and would love if they have a credit card that has good benefits too
Seen enough posts about credit cards, thought it was time to ask about banks!
I have a decently sizeable income and am anticipating more coming in USD in the coming months potentially. Earlier my family and I used to have priority accounts at Citibank (including one current account). Citi had good relationship managers and our issues were resolved on priority but ever since the merger, I feel Axis hasn't been that good.
Which bank accounts do y'all have accounts in? Would want a bank where can establish good priority relationships etc with!
Our family have the same situation. We had all the Citibank Gold accts and when the news broke we moved everything to hdfc. Citi customer service was really good and Hdfc guys were running after us for money. We started with Imperia and then realised the non-sense charges they were levying so we did give them somethings, while kept some stuff at Axis. In axis they will take some time to change to Burgundy now, and service is not that great. Trick is to keep both of them in your fist with some money so that you have control. Get some work done from axis some from hdfc
HDFC we're quite unhappy with! After Zerodha, we didn't have any use for demat accounts and have placed a request to close them multiple times, but they're not closed and we get charged. The kick is, the accounts can't even closed online and need to be closed from the "head office" The sheer headache! We've tried Kotak too, but they charge for everything, even IMPS payments!
I'm wondering if HSBC might be better? Especially with the foreign remittance part?
Yeah correct. We were able to get good rates from Hdfc. Before we were dealing with kotak but they were charging unnecessary in everything. Now we are playing with axis to get the required rates otherwise will continue with hdfc. The only advantage with hdfc is that branches are nearby so you can go and stand on their head and get the work done. Hsbc does not have physical presence well in the country
Bank of Baroda. Homely and nice
Haven't had very good experience with state banks, please share more about your experience with them!
So I think state banks depend on the rapport you have with the staff in that branch. By rapport I mean just a normal rapport nothing implied. Digital banking for all big national banks is now good. So if you have the people there who help you when you need any branch work done, it's quite fine. I've used ICICI, and I much prefer Baroda cuz the staff knows me and it's just a nice family atmosphere.
What difference does it make? Everything is done online including loan application, address change etc. I have wealth acc in ICICI. Whatever bank it is, they automatically try to upgrade you if you maintain enough balance.
When it comes to getting forex, certain banks throw fits and have variable resolution time With Citi earlier, we had priority banking so if there was ever an issue, the RM would get it resolved ASAP but with Axis now a few things have been stuck for months
Unfortunately, not everything is done online, changes to phone number/email on credit cards or accounts still require physical presence
This is not going to be my salary account and would love if they have a credit card that has good benefits too
What salary account you are using and what are the benefits? I would like to change my salary account looking forward to what's the best out there. I have citi bank salary account currently
Hi,
I’m looking for an saving bank account to open online without need to go bank offline.
This is just to park some money for sometime, as if it’s main account I just keep spending it.
Main purpose is only to park some time and then ...
Thread to discuss bank accounts , type of the account and what do you use it for ?
How many bank accounts you have and why?
Any bank accounts just for FD with high interest rates?
What’s your take on this?
Noob here. Thanks in advance.
