Depends on the role and team. Coursera is doomed thanks to its leadership. They all live in a bubble where they think they’re perfect and well we all know perfection leaves no room for improvement. They are by far the least customer obsessed company I have seen. They design their products and services inside out and not the other way around. That’s what you get when you have a bunch of snooty, ivy league and consulting folks with no experience or understanding of learning sciences. Culture is woke and politically charged with you needing godfathers and being part of the favourites or inner circles of the leadership for career growth. Join it just to get a major bump on your salary. They pay well 🙂

What's the average annual hike at your org ? I know it depends on performance and all, but still there's gotta be range. Asking from a dev standpoint, but would like to know others as well. At my company, it's around 10-15 %(mid size company, not a startup).

Are you free to upskill while at work?

I believe upskilling / sideskilling is extremely important to remain competant and relevant in the tech world. And employers should invest into providing these resources (like access to Udemy/Coursera/Udacity/LinkedIn Learning etc.) to their employees during work because this also improves the quality of their workforce. What perks does your company provides for upskilling? Would love to hear your thoughts. P.S.: My employer gives access to Udemy and Linkedin Learning + there are some regular Advanced DSA tests + Code Review Mentorship programs + lots of other mentorships + options to do part/full time M.Texh/PhD (many of these are performance dependent)

Growthschool give your review

Has anyone done a course for growthschool? I personally have a pathetic experience. Their course material is good but they overcharge a lot. Upwards of 25K for a 8 week course. They have pre recorded videos. And huge cohorts. Live sessions are shit too. No value add. Basically an expensive udemy course. Does anyone have any reviews?
