Yet Byjus used to be the poster boy of indian edtech industry. It's all their handiwork. Bad karma always bites back.
I remember people bashing Coursera a few years back and saying Byju will take over the whole world of edtech.
Compared to biju wiju the folks at Coursera are bloody saints.

Byju was way ahead if everyone but in the end greed cost him his sensibility.
His tablet had way old content esp for CAT exams.

Valuation, first mover advantage, concept from teaching from a tablet.
And I have heard Byju’s classes were houseful during his teaching time in Bengaluru.

They bought Akash Institute for whooping $950M and now they’re valued at $1B.
So in-short without Akash Institute, Byju’s valuation is $50M!
Sounds resonable🙂

Still overvalued by $1 Billion
Practically speaking, company can't be valued even a penny more than actual tangible assets it owns.
If it was listed, it would have been like the case of Yes bank, and opting for bankruptcy or delisting due to value.
My Esops are now worth 1/10th of what it was 2 Years back. But I am happy .. Byjus deserved the mess they are in right now. 🥲
Don't think Unacademy will fail, and I hope Byjus also recovers back. Quality of Byjus, their animations etc. are top notch. Unacademy courses are for the mass middle class.
Accha hua, bohot acha hua, kya sad state hai bro, ittna neech kaam karte hain ye log course bechne ke lie pata nhi hai kya tumko, ye log, gareeb logo ko loan delwake lakhon ka ek ghatiya sa tablet de dete hain,
