Cognizant resignation policy
Can someone update me about the cognizant resignation policy, including the band-wise notice period? Thanks in advance.
What is the resignation process in Cognizant, and what would be the notice period for an associate? Can I resign in the middle of a project? I have been working in Cognizant for only 1 year so I don’t have much idea. What would be the process of resigning? Do I need to speak to my manager prior to mailing my resignation? Please guide.
Be it Cognizant notice period, or for any other company, inform kiye bina you cannot simply walk out in the middle of a project. There are people who ghost their managers and don’t show up at work, but that’s extremely unprofessional. Be a responsible person and inform your manager regarding your resignation. Serve the notice period, get your FNF settlement and part ways with Cognizant on a good note.
You have to serve Cognizant notice period after you have submitted the resignation. If you’re a permanent employee, the notice period will be 90 days. Aap chaho toh project ke beech quit kar sakte ho, but I think there will be implications. Because a colleague of mine did the same and dusre company se jab background verification hua thaa, it didn’t go well. If your manager is understanding then you may leave the company sooner.
Every company’s notice period is different from the other. The Cognizant notice period is 60 days. You will have to submit the resignation through the HCRM portal and wait for the formal procedure to be completed. It is best to complete the project and then put in your papers, else you could speak to your supervisor about leaving earlier. In either case, it is judicious to speak with your manager, prior to tendering your resignation. If your reasons are solid and your manager is understandable you may be granted an early notice period. But, if you have a manager who lives by the rules, it’s better to complete your 60-days time.
It may be tricky but no one is legally capable of stopping you from resignation. You don't want to work you can file the resignation. No binding contract is legal as per Indian Labour Laws. Discuss with your manager let them know you are putting in your resignation as you have a better opportunity and 3 month notice period is a very long time anyone can be easily trained in that time period. You can easily leave don't stress too much on that.
You need to speak to your manager before mailing your resignation. The notice period is usually 60 to 90 days. Resigning mid-project can be tricky; discuss it with your manager.

I joined 1 week ago, still on bench. I am getting a better offer from another organization. So if I resign now after joining cognizant and sitting on the bench for 1 week. Will they let me go early, or do I still have to serve the notice...
I have a got offer in CTS. This is direct project hiring but I also got know some are short term projects.
