Cognizant resignation policy

Can someone update me about the cognizant resignation policy, including the band-wise notice period? Thanks in advance.

Cognizant resignation policy is generally the same. I worked in this company at an Associate level for 3 years and then I switched to a different company. Before switching I had to serve a 60-day notice period, which is a mandatory one. Before I started with the notice period, I had a talk with my manager and told him about this. Then I wrote an official email through PeopleSoft system. While serving the notice period, I signed the clearance forms to clear my financial and other matters before my last working day. Then I had an exit interview and that’s how I parted ways with Cognizant.

For all bands, Cognizant resignation policy is the same. You have to write an official email mentioning your reason to the manager and serve the notice period of 60 days. If you require an early release, you can talk to your supervisor and come up with a solution. When you’re serving your notice period, the HR would offer you clearance form which you have to sign to settle your payments and other matters once you’re through your last working day. After that, the company will schedule an exit interview and then finally the separation process will be complete.

As a former employee at Cognizant, I explored the Cognizant resignation policy immediately when moving to another role. Depending on the band level, notice periods vary: generally, associates and senior associates faced a 60 day notice period, while managers and above had a 90 day notice period. The resignation process is straightforward but requires advance planning, especially at higher levels, as the shifts in projects and handovers are prioritized. HR and managers usually work closely to ensure smooth exits, but it is worth clarifying policies directly with HR as notice periods can vary with roles and situations.

I am able to offer ideas regarding the Cognizant resignation policy as I worked there for a while. Usually, each person has a different notice time. The notice period is usually 30 days for entry-level employees. Depending on the position and duties, the notice period for mid- to senior-level employee can be longer as 60 or even 90 days. The goal of Cognizant's policy is to avoid customer disturbance while providing easy project transfers. Since demands vary due to project demands and location-specific policies, it is important to connect with HR.
