I am writing this post to understand the pros and cons of different dating apps from the customer side point of view.
Zero Pros for an average or below average guy like me. Just made me feel more lonely and bad about myself, when I swiped right on so many but didn't get a single match
Waste of time & money. Its hard to match first of all for an average dude (day & night diff btwn the swipes men & women get).
Met 3 girls over a span for 6-8 months on Bumble. Things didn't work out, seemed an utter waste of time and MONEY!
Met someone magical the natural way, been over 5 months, going great. Not saying dating apps don't work, but very less likelihood of it happening.
Three years back our female friend told us "Tum logo ka kuch nahi hone wala, ghanta kabhi ladke ko chune milega"
So both of our journey began in search for a girlfriend: I tried my level best, same as my male friend, got 0 matches since 3 years in Bangalore.
My average looking rich male friend, tried his level best - got fit like really fit, trained for better fashion sense and brought good clothes, did skincare to smoothen out skin, took better photos by hiring a professional, revamped his profile - he's getting maybe 1 match in 12 months in Bangalore.
That 1 match also had an attention span of a few hours.
My female friend who's borderline obese has got 100s of matches and changes boyfriend once a month, weekly sometimes. Everytime we call her in weekend, she's mostly out on a date. In the last 2 years she has visited almost every pub in the city and 3 star hotel for free.
After trying so hard and not seeing results, we both gave up, we feel like nobody wants us, no matter how much we change ourselves for the better or how much we earn.
Worst is all around us people are in relationship, all our friends are getting married, can't describe in words the void we feel. In school, college we were told by our parents to put head down and study for career - women will come later - we did, the result is decent career, but we failed in personal life - no relationship even after 27 years. Feels like we got scammed.
If you're an average male, you have no chance in dating apps, insane competition outside also, guys in our age group really have it worst. No option to quickly die naturally also (they made suicide a crime in India 😑), so we'll just exist I guess...
One simple reason for this is: Our parents generation committed a lot of female infanticide, due to which the ratio got screwed up, realistically there are like 650 women per 1000 men in our generation, even more skewed in dating apps.
For males: little to no pros unless they are rich, good looking and successful (top 10% of guys). 90% would be better off not using them at all.
For females: ample choices. But they will usually go for the 10% men who tend to be fuckbois, get burned, then will say shit like all men are trash.
Modern dating apps deserve to die.
I get decent amount of match but the point is women expect too much from a guy and conversation means they don't have anything in description,plus no efforts in conversation yet expect you to come out as interesting person.
Tinder is full of scamster asking you to meet within hours of chat so that they can take you toa posh area restaurant obliviously associated with them and you will end up paying 10-20k for some basic food and drink.
Bumble and Hinge audience is best to find someone but in Bumble you can match with someone who liked you after 24hours if you're not a premium user and a men hardly gets like everyday so you will wait forever and then you will have someone with expectation of coming out as very interesting guy.Hinge is good for everything but as men same challenges.
Audience wise :getting match for men till age of 27 is very tough ,after that dynamics change and you start to get match easily.Women in their 30s and 40s are fun there.
