I've lived here for long and now I'm on the path of quitting alcohol, also I've also become less interested in clubbing in general, so basically I'm figuring out new way of living in this city that I love.
Here's what I'm trying:
Cubbon park picnics on weekend mornings+ with good breakfast in Koshys
Meet your friends for brunches. Not in the evening. Meet them over food/movie or event.
Go book shopping, and read in cafes. It gives my brain an illusion of an outing or productivity plus if you enjoy the book genuinely even better.
Gymming/swimming - a hobby that gets you out of your house twice a week atleast
Board games night- groups in Bangalore host such nights ,some in no alcohol cafes, which is great. Reduces temptation. Go to these places.
Invest in good speakers or a projector and rediscover good music or movies.make it a thing. Movie night every Wednesday. Enjoy it by yourself, slowly you can start inviting friends, neighbours, movie buffs etc..
Build comforting corners in your home. I am doing this. I built a small library and reading corner for myself. Next in line - I'm building a music wall- with work from my favourite artists such as Beatles, Zeppelin etc - in this corner of my home, I will devour music. A friend told me this worked for him too- he calls his corner the Man cave- he plays guitar, has a new drum set to learn drums and has set up huge screening for his football matches. His rule is for whatever time he spends in mancave, is just for it, no other thoughts allowed.
Go for walks
These are few things I'm trying . Hopefully I feel way better
