Do you feel the urge to join folks during smoking break?

I have observed many freshers joining seniors during smoking break for “networking”. is this a common thing and does it help in getting promos?

I don’t smoke but will consider it if there’s a benefit for my career.

Never do that please. Health >>> every other thing in life. Few lakhs won’t matter if you don’t have the time left to enjoy it.

All my seniors and peers say they started smoking because of these "smoke breaks" and to network

In my opinion, there are a million different ways to network, fucking up your lungs and your finances in the long run (I don't imagine cigarettes are cheap) isn't it

We usually go for breaks before and after lunch. So agewise I’m younger, exp wise junior as well. I’m seniour only because of role.

I do not smoke, neither have problem with who smokes, but one of my coulegue she used to smoke alot. Now she stopped, coz we built some crap story about Mukesh in picture. UNO!

We always do shit talking, and that day it was for Mukesh.

Lol, when I was an intern, a senior took me out for some work and then asked me if I wanted tea, coffee, or a cigarette, and I have no clue what got over me, I just delivered a small lecture about how I don't like to depend on substances or form any kind of habit because I think it's despicable and not good, etc WHILE SHE SMOKED AND DRANK COFFEE

I've always been on and off on smoking. But I end up joining for one smoke break every day. I don't end up smoking, but I'll have the chai.

It's not for the networking, but do feel that it's a good time to chat w people that otherwise does not happen.

Who the hell gets the urge to join smokers!!🤷‍♂️ If you don’t like smoking, chances are that you want to stay as far away as possible from smoke.

I'd love to join them for a chat with a gas mask on my face. I don't smoke and I can't stand the stench of it as well.
