How to find hobbies?

(irrespective of whether it's a weekday or weekend) Don't suggest to find a hobby. That piece of advice is really easy, but finding a hobby is really difficult. So what are some things that we can do on free time in Bengaluru, where people don't flex their career in front of others?

I recently moved to Bangalore and almost immediately went into a zone of persistently feeling sad and hopeless. I refused to take antidepressants. I am doing slightly better after few sessions of therapy, but I want to know some other alternatives? Anybody experienced the same thing? What makes it better? Bangalore feels like a culture-less city tbh.

Hey, Looking for suggestions on where can I go when stepping out over the weekend in Bangalore. Teetotler, so no pubs. Hoarded a lot of books that are still unread, so no bookstores. Been to Cubbon Park and Lalbagh too. Not watching movies or TV series in a long while, so movie theater is out too. Not considering long travel (beyond city). Any suggestions?

Acknowledge Your Feelings: Accept that you are lonely or have a monotonous life and you need to make the change. Don't hide behind "I'm an introvert", no you are just lazy and you are ok with living the shitty life, you just want spoon feeding, nothing else. Be Open to New Experiences. It's all about initiatives, you have to take risks and put yourself in uncomfortable situations. Do following at least once per week: Have lunch/dinner/ outside your house. Watch a movie in the theatre instead on your laptop. Work from a cafe. Talk to a stranger. Play a sport/game, you don't have to be good at it. Many people just play for fun. Find events:Just google "events near me" or "events in bangalore" etc. Give priority to physical in person experiences instead of digital ones. Explore your surroundings, go for a walk in the morning or evening, take out time, talk to your neighbours. Reach Out to Colleagues or Alumni, we all have active fiends, get in touch with them. Take Classes or Workshops, even if you are not interested. Don't hesitate to spend money on experience, see money as investments, not expenses. Don't self reject: means don't think about what would happen and just at home, anyway you aren't doing anything. People took initiatives to start groups & clubs, either start one for your area of interest, or join one. Practice Self-Care and Stay in Touch with Loved Ones: you know what that means. All this would impact your personal & professional life as well. You will stop blaming your job/manager/colleagues and accept that you were the problem, it's your choice to change your life. If you don't do any of this and still cry about your life, hope you know that "nobody cares about your shitty life, nobody is going to come save you, you are on your own and survival of the fittest". If you don't put in the effort, you deserve whatever shitty place you are at. It might not be as easy, but don't let yourself take advantage of you.

Hi, I am a 2023 graduate and currently working in a product based startup in Indiranagar. When I came to Bangalore a few months ago, it was all fun and exciting. I still love my work (working in multiple tech stacks). But somehow life outside the work has become somewhat boring. I do go on bike ride trips but again can't go every weekend. I play badminton and cricket sometimes but still feel bored sometimes. I don't go to clubs as I don't drink and smoke. Would love if you folks can suggest something?

What do people in Bangalore enjoy doing outside of work? I see a lot of events happening in the city but its very difficult to find them. I follow instagram pages like things2doinbengaluru and whatshot. Any other suggestions?

Holi hai? Diwali hai? So what, nothing to enjoy. Lets spend the day laying on the bed, watching stuff over phone. Feeling less and less disconnected with friends, to the point where I feel I don't even have friends. College friends are based in another city. Didn't even try to make friends at workplace. Stuck alone in my homecity as past 6 years I was based somewhere else completing my grad and preparing for jee. Prior to that focused a lot on studies. So had little to no interaction with people during academics. And now when I have time and money to spend, there is noone with whom I can have fun with.
