Have you ever lied on your resume?

What do you think are some white lies that don't matter? To what extent is lying and altering details on resumes acceptable? How should a job seeker approach the honesty thing ?

Never lied on the resume, but I did get it rewritten by ChatGPT to make the points sound effective yet concise.

Also I think a lot of times people write their own recommendation letters and just get it signed from managers, it’s acceptable now

I used my friend's resume throughout the hiring process, just changed my name and contact info. I even got the assignment done by him. Landed the 25 lpa job. Today is my first day and I don't know what to do :(

Yes, I'm the ex-founder of the company, I was building for 3 years.

Now looking for job, had to change the role from Managing director and Founder to, Product Manager.

That's what I lied about, nobody touches a ex-founder or ex- entrepreneur maybe? Idk

I think it's okay to hide things, like I don't mention dates sometimes or the period of the job, otherwise they get weird about taking a break or something.
