How can we improve Grapes for you?

Hey Folks, the goal with Grapes was for you to get a small token of appreciation from other members of the community when they like something you’ve done.

But today you only get Grapes when you receive likes on your posts/comments and when you verify your company.

How can we expand the definition of Grapes to reward all the awesome things you do on Grapevine? All ideas welcome

If you come daily and read a post on the app, you get grapes. Then, give them a nice pop up.

Solves for Daily Retention, plus gamifies user behaviour resulting in long term habits. ✨

Don’t want to gamify things too much. But yes several users stay around only to ‘like posts’ and ‘vote on polls’. They deserve some goodness too.

Please for God’s sake DO NOT add grapes for polls. There will be a continuous spam for polls which will eventually degrade the poll quality.

Grapes should only be earned when others appreciate the content not because of the author doing any activity on the app, otherwise it will directly result in the increase of spam. What’s stopping people from unnecessarily commenting and posting irrelevant stuff?

There should be a clear distinction between increasing the app engagement versus keeping spam in check. Anyways with the increase in scale, spam is something which is bound to increase.

Motive should be to earn grapes and not farm them. Hope we do realise the difference between the two. :)

Instead there can be badges or certain tiers which gets displayed along with the name. Gives credibility to the post and the author.

There can be a minimum threshold like total views/comments for any post/comment to be eligible for extra bonus grapes. Or maybe some sort of individual milestones. This will filter out the top trending posts from the normal/spam ones.

Reposting from my other post:

You guys should think of a app generated QR code in lieu of every 1,000 grapes that can be exchanged for a good bottle of wine with a liquor selling chain (eg Living Liquidz, et al).

Helps turn grapes to wine and also motivation for high impact content.

Also lets you do a local collaboration - Fratelli, Nine Hills, Sula, etc.

I'm sure you have family and friends who drink. Shock them by gifting them a bottle.

This might involve a lot of effort at our end and this isn’t something we are good at.

Props for honesty, man

I have some ideas

  • Number of comments on the posts
  • votes on the polls (each vote translates into certain qty)

This makes sense. We should add for sure
