How do you keep yourself motivated on fitness journey?

Always take progress pictures whenever you feel like you look good on that day, doesn't matter even if you take pictures for 3-4 days in a row.

Also understand that even if results are visual, you are exercising physically, so even if yo don't see results visually, those changes are still happening and you're still making progress which will help you in your old age.

I imagine when I get fired I should be fit enough to travel. Atleast be able to eat comfort foods when getting rejected by rangoli idiots.

Your only goal is showing up at the gym or doing something for 10 minutes - if not gym, go for a ten minutes walk or do 3-4 exercises at home. All of us can spare 10 minutes and however lazy one is 10 minutes is not too much effort.
