How is hiring rn
I have seen lot of posts about openings lately, are companies back to hiring now or what exactly is the market going on ? People who have recently applied can share their experiences on the market, compensation hike and ghosting by HRs if it is still happening
please note that I'm only talking about the tech sector here, and that I'm on the hiring side rather than someone in the job market looking out.
my pov - market continues to trend downward. overall 2 things seem to be playing out:
- reduction in headcount: orgs are restructuring to get the same output with fewer people. sr positions seeing the steepest drop anecdotally.
- comp band recalibration: comp bands are dropping post bubble, with mid and jr seeing the steepest drops. my sense is 20-60% downward correction is in progress based on role.
this will continue for a year or two post interest rates coming down - which is yet to happen.
I have been getting Interview emails of late, so I think hiring has come up to a moderate level. Openings are coming out consistently I feel, though I can’t comment on anything about the compensation they are willing to offer
Are the good days back?
Are companies hiring again in normal ways giving those buffed up packages as they were in the WFH days? Can someone who might have recently interviewed shed some light or someone who is tracking this?
Increase in Ghost job postings
Hi everyone,
Are you seeing an increase in the number of ghost job postings. Because in one of the companies, I have applied for the position based on my skill set and also receiving notifications of new job postings almost every 4 day...
Who is hiring?
I have been reading posts about recovery in IT and that hiring has started happening again but really who is hiring? And are people really getting hired? I am yet to see posts on LinkedIn about people starting new jobs.
