How to move forward in work and in life?

I’ve been working from past 5 years and in this phase of my career I don’t feel I am contributing enough to the org or interested in moving up the ladder seeing the lifestyles and fucked up WLB. I’ve recently suffered a huge personal loss. Have turned extremely under confident, feel like quitting everything. How to overcome this?

There's no specific way anyone can answer this. I am sorry for your loss. I can empathize with you, but can't help you with your next steps, only you can!

Here's what I'd suggest - Figure out what you want from life and your career. You need to put efforts into self introspection to get the answers.

Once you know it, you'll know the next steps.

Don't make any decisions in hurry. Leaving a job seems easy, but if you have commitments like your family, loans etc then it would daunt you. You must have a proper exit strategy if at all you decide to leave.

If the work is overwhelming, you can take a small vacation or sabbatical to figure things out

I would say, take OOO and travel for a couple of weeks pondering over your thoughts.

Hit the gym hard, take a solo vacation or workcation, get a lot of sunshine or go out to the park (want to say go walk in the woods like Bryson but realize that we city folks aren't lucky enough to access that), get some small wins through personal activities such as hobbies/exercise, eat your comfort food, quit pot, drink moderately. Hopefully all these things should help you get back on track. If none of these also work then try therapy

Just keep swimming, remember that this too shall pass and take it one day at a time.

Hang in there man. Roll with the punches. These things happen. Suggest jounrnalling to help map down next steps and thoughts. All advice above also holds.

After 2 months joined an early-stag...
