HR asking for Previous salary slips and Offer Letter

Just cleared an Interview for a company in another city. Since the screening round, I've communicated two things clearly to the HR

  • That I don't want to settle for a standard hike and would like some XLPA since I need to relocate.
  • And that I'm not open for US shifts.

The HR still went ahead with scheduling the interview. One red flag I saw was that when I asked the interviewer which shift I'm being interviewed for, he said US shift. I told him that already informed HR about my shift preference. He said talk to HR (we know HRs have no control over shift timings)

Another red flag was seen when in the second round, a senior manager told me that we have openings in US shifts and they have a rotational policy based on requirement. So my concern is that even if they recruit me for any other shift, they may send me to US shift and I'll be like a moron for joining.

Looking suggestions for

  • Should I share the salary slips because the HR might not be on her words and lowball me. Although I was very transparent about my current package and expected package

  • Should I even join given the red flags, if one fine day they send me to Night shift, I'll feel cheated, how to taken assurance that I won't be moved based on requirement.

Appreciate any help!

If you are ok, to lose this opportunity, be stern and deny it. Its highly unlikely they reject you because you didn't share your last salary slip.

Ask them why? they would say its for proof that you worked there.. tell them you can show them the PF pass book...

You make a valid point, I definitely won't share the offer letter. But salary slip is something they get very itchy about.

Nonetheless, if they can't afford me, I'll not join, already had an experience with being paid less so not going for a cut again.

Asking salary slips has become a norm now... supply demand problems. Although it's never good for us candidates

On the shift part, they have made it pretty clear that they will rotate and curre tly have openings in US so definitely gonna happen

If you are not too desperate to get this job or have better options, would suggest to let this pass

Hmm! Makes sense.

I really can't trust them on the shift part. Will let it pass ig!

How does salary slips come into picture here? Let’s see you don’t share salary slips, and HR issues you offer letter, then what? Your concern still remains, right? You will anyway be put in night shift, so what is the angle of salary slip?

They might try to lowball me based on salary slips, night shift is another concern that I have apart from the salary.
