Being a cloud engineer you will have to face many challenges on daily basis,
Cloud is nothing but Linux and API., clear your basics first and we are hat of problem solver.

Certification helps in getting interviews, getting notice by good MNC, fundamentals of networking, operating system , Linux, troubleshooting of Linux , and communication collaboration between devs , and ops will be crucial to perform daily activities

Basics of database , server, trouble shooting installation, scripting for launching server s,

Ticketing tools like jira or ServiceFirst, some agile practices .

Clear your basics, be a problem solver , you will get the contexts from your project.

No need to be expert in every service offered by cloud vendor, in your project what fits in , what solution is offered, what is the scope and limitations of your project matters much.

Hope this helps .. all the best.
