Mpl company culture and growth
Hi guys, can someone help me understand how MPL company culture is? Should ondjoin I. Product role there?
Run by overpaid kids.
Split into 3 different companies, crypto, mobile games, gambling.
For all the hype about being a new platform for eSports, It's just a Rummy app (like 90% of the profit)
So 90% of the employees are working on stupid shit and playing politics.
Issue is that they grew too fast, now have zero idea how to actually justify their valuation. Easy money gone, emp churn is massive, everyone playing politics, founders friends hold all leadership positions.
Run. In opposite direction.
Depends on which team you're joining. Their Real money team is the one which actually brings money for the company so it's a company priority. Other teams are disposable. They have fired many non important business units
Depends a lot on what team you're joining and who you're reporting to. If you get to work on a games team, you'll be fine because there's lots of focus. In other roles, you'll have to take a call depending on whether you liked your hiring manager round
Overall run very carefully from a P&L pov so there's lots of emphasis on meeting revenue targets and ensuring the business is actually viable vs a lot of other startups that focus on gmv etc. That comes with the downside like lack of space for experimentation + focus on OKRs etc
Check glass door for reviews. They are usually pretty accurate.
How is MPL doing business and growth wise?
Heard they first layoff, then do increment and take left over employees on international offsites.
Is the company surviving?
