My manager wants me to move my leaves from Dec to Jan even though my leaves would expire in Dec.

So I have a few leaves remaining that will expire in Dec and I have already applied for 5 leaves in December which are approved by my manager.

However, today on 1:1 call she asked me to move my leaves in Jab and she said she I can take those leaves in Jan and she would not update it on workday.

This sounds fishy to me, should I ask her to put this on an email so that I avoid any awkward conversations later?

If she said this then definitely she can allow that. Meaning in Jan or later she will allow you to apply wfh and be on leave however for your satisfaction. Just send her and email stating in a manner that as per conversation I had this doubt , do you mean I can take leave on Jan and apply wfh for those leave dates since those 5leaves will expire in Dec. Make sure she replies on email and not just call you on teams and say yes and all. cause later they'll forget or act to forget

Generally if your manager is good and good their words they do it but idk how your manager is. So you can do it to be sure if your manager does not fall into good category

Yes, its indeed fishy...

First, "Move your leaves" does it mean to reschedule the leaves or is she asking to use those expiring leaves in Jan?

Second: The leaves which are going to expire, will expire no matter what if not used before 31st. As you have already applied and your manager approved (Hope its on HCM not on email) , there is nothing that your manager can do now.

Yes the leaves are approved on the employee platform and I have received the automated email from the platform.

She said that she would allow me to take leaves in Jan for a period of 2/3 days in a stretch but she would not make it on the platform. This is the part that doesn't make any sense to me.
