Need help! Been working 7 days a week since 3 weeks.

Hey guys, I have been working in a startup company for 3 weeks. I am a fresher and I am forced to work on weekends and even during holidays like 2nd of Oct. My Team lead always tells me to come to the office during weekends and he says it's an order. I am working in sales and the reason they gave is that we have to work as festivals are coming.

How should I tell my team lead and manager that I am exhausted and can't work like that. I am totally new to the Job life and don't have any clue how to move forward. Please help!

My current salary is ₹18,000, and I am in a probation period of six months. After this period, my performance will be reviewed, and based on the evaluation, I may be offered a permanent position with the company. My working hours are from 9:30 AM to 7:30 PM.

Okay you are an intern. These startups never make an intern permanent.

ITalk to ur manager and lead upfront regarding this that you won't be available for weekend work.set clear boundary if they agree good else look for opportunities outside.Extending oneself in weekend can be done for cases where some critical support needed but if it's a regular phenomena then its no good.

I had a discussion with my manager, and they informed me that this month is the festival season. As a result, I am required to work throughout the month to meet my target. Additionally, I will need to work on Sundays to ensure good productivity.

Don't do this! I did this at a previous company, and I got laid off at a point that I didn't even remember why I sat before my laptop and what I was supposed to do after just 15 minutes.

Talk to your manager and lead. If it doesn't help, talk to your skip manager. Keep escalating it, to Sr. Manager, and if needed, since it's a startup, you can even involve the CEO. If it didn't resolve after two escalations, start looking for other opportunities.

Btw, when did you join this startup? Are all teams like this, or is it only yours? Did you try talking with your other teammates?

Stop it at the start. Don't put yourself out there, so they start considering your extra effort as normal or default....

Now he’s not a horrible person but I hate how normalised this cult...
