Negotiating existing offer with a new one

I'm expecting an offer from company B (higher than company A)

I have already accepted an offer from Company A. How should I communicate to Company A to raise/ match the offer without damaging relationship with Company A?

I'm more inclined to join Company A.

There's no easy way out. You can only negotiate if you are okay to walk out.

Just tell A that you received a great offer from some firm but you would love to work with A if they can match it. The HR might get angry etc but this is fairly common in industry now. They may or may not increase the offer. Many times HR already has a backup ready, so if you re-negotiated they might pass the offer to the backup.

If your inclination to join Company A is because of the role which is more lucrative to you, go ahead and join company A. Relevant role always pays more in long term.
