Rant and Feeling confused

Just moved from a WFH startup to a Full WFO legacy corporate company.

These corpo people talk so much, too much restrictions to get access or to create a MVP, a lot of unnecessary paperwork/ email loops.

I feel sleepy all day and these people find and make you speak hell lot making me confused and feeling that I have done no work and what will I say about deliverables 🥲.

Side note: renovation going on so not getting any corner + the setting are like this getting it is difficult 😭

Any suggestions or I am over reacting 😄

block time on calendars just for getting work done. Have frequent coffee breaks, invest in good anc headphones.

Dont hesitate to reach out and ask for help, keep sharing even smallest of updates in standups, dont need to create unnecessary pressure on yourself for these updates

any task, break down to granular level, show it to leads/stakeholders then only begin to keep everything transparent

dont need to engage in any gossip, keep to yourself and your personal shit to yourself

learn polite corpo speak(please, thank you, the basics), it might seem superficial but its always safest

Have frequent (monthly) 1-1 s with manager with a set template, asking honest feedback, this would ensure no surprises during appraisals/shit goes down

Lastly, figure and carve out your niche, something that you should be known for in company when anyone thinks of that particular task, this will keep your visibility high

Over-reaction : Such cultural changes are expected. MNCs operate in a compliant and careful manner to not go beyond barriers.

Working fast & break things work in startups only as liabilities are less.

Is it normal to feel like quitting your new job within a month?

This was the job I so badly wanted. It's WFH. The actual work hasn't begun. Training phase is going on. It's not even training. They've sent me some material to read and learn. That's it. I don't know any of my colleagues well. I just he...

RANT: I HATE WFO

I'm a 2023 grad but I've worked in VC/HFT/GSoC/startups

I'm so fed up with the WFO culture. What do you even get by getting employees in office?

What's the point? I'm an engineer, I can write code from anywhere on the planet with inter...
