Running vs Lifting Weights?

I’ve always liked running, but someone never liked doing weights. I now realize why the other is important too, I do want muscle mass and I feel it’s critical for longevity.

Anybody else in the same zone? How did you overcome the barrier

I feel if you have a decent amount of muscle mass - gaining more muscle is useless. There’s no practical use of more muscle

But more stamina is legit important and makes you very functional so in sports and personal life

Doing some weights can be helpful to retain the muscles you already have, and not let the body break it down as fuel while consistently doing an energy intense activity like running. This is if you have very little body fat already.
