Should I ask for raise while switching?

I’ve been laid off dew days ago for cost cutting. My current TC is ~30LPA with 4 Years of experience. I’m happy with this TC but now that I’m also switching and seeing current market conditions should I ask for raise over it or just say to match current comp to recruiters?

What's the downside of asking for a raise? Worst you'll be employed at the same TC

One downside I faced was, when I told recruiter I was laid off and asked for industry standard hike. He immediately said “Thank you” and cut the call after hearing about layoff. Don’t know why he did that, also told the reason that it was due to cost cutting.

There will be always some recruiters like that. Persisting is what I would do

Ask for hike or move to a new company

I have got very less hike and my ctc is below market/company standards, so should I talk to my skip manager for raise or just switch to a new company, I’m worried about recession and layoffs. Yoe: 4
