Should I start up?

I have a business idea, similar to takeaway food cafe stuff, planning to start from my own town (Tier2). Have done enough market research in the last few months and am sure enough to generate 1-2lakhs in profit with one store(will expand more to different cities asap). But is it really worth it? I am a recent CSE graduate, and I fear that if I invest all my future time in this I might miss opportunities to start bigger scalable companies in the future as I would also miss the corporate ladder bus.

But isn't the payout tempting? 2lakh every month? It might take 4+ years to get that in hand salary

Cafe business is known to be a tricky one. Unless you have a chef experience it is a business is heavily dependent on others. A well crafted menu can still mitigate some risks but pricing plays an important part. Just my view, if you have never worked in the kitchen you should avoid making one! But then there are exceptions too! All the best

Not a cafe exactly, machines di most work and stuff will be made according to SOPs, no chef needed

Do you enjoy coding ? Then better be in SAAS or similar niche. Don’t do this just because you see easy 2lakh/month. A lot of business doesn’t scale and become lifestyle business. Not that it is bad, but you may be short selling your potential.

Take your time. Understand the world, different businesses and different industries.

Initial money might be tempting, but not sure how much your biz could possibly scale. You don't want to be unemployable 4 years down the line.

The world can sing glories about wanting ex-founders/operators, but reality is, there aren't even enough opportunities for folks with experience, forget about ex-operators.

Thanks, will take up a job then!

ADVICE TO ALL EMPLOYEES :

  1. Build a home earlier. Be it rural home or urban home. Building a house at 50 is not an achievement. Don't get used to government houses. This comfort is so dangerous. Let all your family have good time in your house.

  2. Go home. Don...
