I want to develop poc like image recommendations, ads recommendations, video recommendations , next best action , my company is in green tech and we don’t have any data , how to get the relevant data for further shits and own startup . I have lots of free time , is my approach correct

Start with your text data and then build on top of it.. it's flexible because of available of API

Okay if you are thinking yo build your own AI Product, its a different game as it involves multiple things which starts with Data.. I won't be able to provide help as it is more of open ended question
The challenge that you would face is not just in Data for computer vision project, but also on the Processing power too .. it requires large configuration system to train which will be another overhead..
To get started may be start with LLM which is in trend these days, create POC and Deploy easily. You can get the visibility in your organization and might decide to fund you.. then you can take up computer vision tasks.
