A lot of people in India think that if they can speak two lines in English, they ought to declare, "Everyone wants peace and enough of X-phobia". It's seen as a 'hip' thing. If you read news and can interpret data, you will know that not everyone strives for peace and equality.
No political party or news channel in India or anywhere else is agenda-free, most were feeding on igniting religious passions on one side (didn't even have to try), when some others saw an opportunity to do the same to the other side.
