I was employed with TCS for about 13 months before deciding to resign, and managing the process of resignation was fairly straightforward but does involve a few steps. I can share my personal experience to guide you.
According to the TCS resignation policy, resignations need to be initiated through their internal portal called Ultimatrix. This is the primary platform where you’ll find the option to submit your resignation. You will need to provide details like your last working day and reason for leaving.
After submitting your resignation in Ultimatrix, your manager will receive a notification to approve or discuss your resignation. From there, the HR team steps in to process your exit. While the formal resignation begins on Ultimatrix, it’s always a good idea to send a professional email to your reporting manager and HR informing them of your decision to resign. This keeps communication clear and ensures a smooth process.
Be mindful of the notice period, which can vary depending on your role and agreement. In my case, it was a 90-day notice, which gave enough time for the switch. The entire procedure was managed expertly and with simplicity even if it was a bit procedural.
So, to summarize, yes, you need to start the resignation through the Ultimatrix portal, but also keep HR and your reporting manager in the loop through formal communication via mail. If you ensure you follow the protocol, things should go smoothly. All the best!
