It's become a commodity. Public places where you could just hang out and meet people are slowing being replaced by establishments you need to spend. Everyday we get bombarded with countless advertisements promoting unreasonable beauty standards — buy this and that to appeal to a potential partner. Sell yourself as a product on these online replacements. Not just commodification of a relationship, but commodification of individuals within the dating world.
