How do people continue in a company for 5+ years?
I don't understand people who have been with one organisation for 10, 15, 20 years. I can't even think beyond 3 years and that's a stretch too.
Personally- I feel they are very averse to change and are promoters of politics within teams. Pls comment on your thoughts
Two perspectives: people are averse to change (challenge) and hence staying at an organisation for a long time
Or
People realise that in order to grow to the top (SVP to CXO roles) and to further to have deep impact, they will stay in an organisation for a longer.
Staying in the same organisation doesn't mean one shouldn't be the best. Also, the SVP to CXO roles that I'm calling out are not those requiring some 10 yoe, but 15-20+
If its an investment bank, politics
💯
Team member for 14 years Friend of company owner. Play heavy politics He asks him first to give a hike to someone Salary: 12 LPA
Me
Entered the first company
Never had a hike
Left the company
Salary:9LPA
Imo beyond a certain point in lfe people lose the will to fight. It could be because of a personal situation or simply because they feel it's not worth it.
These are the ones who stay in the same company for a long time.
If you notice, it's people with less than 10yoe who keep talking about growth and promotion. Building a rapport with colleagues, with your boss, with the job takes times. Many are not ready to do that all over again every 3 to5 years. It's just not worth it

I work at Chase India and really worried with the fact that more than 90% of the employees are just less than 2 years old in the company, even with the organisation being 15 years old?
Any comments?

I wish to know the pros/cons of frequently switching jobs. I am in a dilemma, there are posts here and there that say don't switch frequently and then there are posts that nobody cares about frequent job switches, as you are a dev.
